    What about the sound effects?

Don't put words in my mouth. I welcome new things. I welcome nostalgia. Sometimes you don't get chocolate and peanut butter when you mix the two. Sometimes, you get a mess. Discovery's sound design is a mess. That's neither here nor there. They're using a ship design that was conceived in...

    What about the sound effects?

Not what I meant. They do not harmonize. They distract. You have sounds from the 60s, 90s, and newly created sound effects intermixing constantly, and it becomes a cacophony of nostalgia and misery.

    What about the sound effects?

Honestly i'd say the sound design, at least as far as the ships has been what I would classify as "A ****ing mess." Since the beginning. The pew pew's have been off, the dropping in of the TOS torpedo sounds is jarring. The use of all different kinds of sounds from all the eras at seeming...

    Klingon redundancies

Well, the horrifying implication is that VOQ would have to give up one for the team, no?

    I could use a shower.

    Klingon change for season 2?

These are the voyages of the starship M. Bison...! There was a mix up on the order report. Oops.

Did CBS Steal the Tardigrade Idea?

You sound rather defensive. There's simply no way to know for sure until this moves forward. If there's more evidence, we'll find out soon enough. If not, then it's just a fluke and parallel development. Which has happened before. IE Look at disaster films in the 90s. We had a bunch of deep sea...

    Klingon change for season 2?

There is a huge difference between "We have genetic similarities" and "We can flip on a gene to make you a spider-man."

The Mini-Series You Would Like To See

I had an idea for a show, bit similar to what Renegade's was trying to do, only it would be a set on a Klingon K'tinga stolen out of a space junk yard. You'd have a bunch of rag-tag types. Klingon, Orion, a (very secretive) Gorn, a couple humans(Junior Starfleet officers that got caught in the...

News Moonves: CBS All Access And Star Trek: Discovery Doing Very Well

LG, the viewing numbers against how much the show costs to make is usually the basic equation at play. Who are we reaching, are we going to be able to sell enough merch, dvd, digital download, etc to recoup and pay for the show... If a show isn't meeting that mark, or is just too close to the...

    USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

I'm sincerely shocked how close she is to the original and the 79 version. No complaints. There should be none. The original Enterprise' spirit is alive and well. And if they do a Pike series at some point, this Enterprise is perfect for it. Of course it feels derivative of fan designs. Ever...

Spoilers Star Trek: Discovery 1x09 - "Into the Forest I Go"

I think it's less that people have an issue with female(or any character for that matter) having casual relationships, but more in the fact that it isn't often handled maturely by the writers. When they write those scenes for females it often feels like they're snickering going "Teeheehee she's...

Why was Stamets chosen to be gay?

When do these things stop being an "issue" is what I want to know. Is it only okay for the straight white male to be the spy, or the one who dies? It's pretty obvious the writers aren't being malicious, nor are they trying to put these characters into some kind of a trope category. Stamets...

    Discovery and "The Orville" Comparisons

Maybe in the advertising, but inside of the show itself, by Seth's own admission the show leans hard into dramedy territory, and is not by any stretch a straight up comedy. I'm definitely not saying Orville needs to be more or less of anything. I'm saying the comedy aspects are greatly...

    Discovery and "The Orville" Comparisons

I'm just pointing out that the comedic aspect of Orville is greatly exaggerated. It's a thimble out of a bucket.

Spoilers Star Trek: Discovery 1x08 - "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum"

I'm not convinced that Voq was physically altered as such. Mind swap, or mind blend. The real Tyler was mentally swapped with VOQ, and Voq either learned about Tyler via interrogation, or inherited some of his memories. The perfect sleeper agent.
