    Roberto Orci Dies at 51

We know exactly how Orci died according to reports of kidney disease. Nothing about suicide, and nothing about Hackman and his family is confirmed as suicide either. Let’s not spread these wild rumors.

    Roberto Orci Dies at 51

I know he had serious alcohol abuse issues which is what lead to his big exodus from Hollywood. One would have hoped that in the past decade he found some peace and recovery, but there was concerning news from last August that indicated he was still very troubled. It’s a tragedy he never seemed...

The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

Something I’ve noticed of recent fandom is the usage of one particular image of Brosnan Bond. Typically this was the image that was primarily used throughout his run by Eon, and variations of the same idea with later films. It’s a pretty standard image of a stoic looking Bond holding...

It was honestly a great way to address all the concerns of Bond being outdated in the 90s by actually saying “yes Bond isn’t a PC character and we like him that way”. It was also sort of a way of returning to the novels in a sense, because Fleming Bond was written to sort of be a man out of...

Amazon will make the next Bond movie woke by introducing a female M that will call Bond a “sexist misogynist dinosaur”- OH WAIT!!

I’m pretty confident we won’t get a new film until 2027 anyway. They basically need to start from scratch with a new producer, then that producer hires a writer and director and then hires the next Bond. That’s gonna take some time to pull together, and who knows how much of the production crew...

Oh wow, didn’t know of the Kathleen Kennedy thing. Congrats Fandom Menace, it only took you 13 years to succeed! :P

The rate of the Craig films was as good as it could get given the circumstances Eon found themselves in, and only got stretched out for three reasons: MGM’s financial troubles in 2010 that delayed a third film by four years, the Danny Boyle creative clash, and then finally COVID. If things had...

Probably far enough to at least stay in business for a good 60 years, whereas with the Salkinds they could only rip off so many people before it came to bite them in the ass on in the 90s.

That was never me. I’ll admit Eon has never had a perfect track record since they do have titles like TMWTGG, AVTAK, DAD, and QOS, but I always admired that they did things their way.

The Broccoli family were basically the last representation of old school 20th century film producers who had total creative authority over their films. Not only business savvy, but they had real gut instincts when it came to making hit films. Daniel Craig would have never been considered by...

James Horner - The Voyage Home

Would have been fun to see how he did scores for 2/3/4. Sure, we saw how he scored later Trek films, but mid-80s Goldsmith was a different beast with a much more synth heavy aesthetic. I can sort of imagine this bit happening in the nebula as the two ships are going in circles looking for each...

I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

The only other instance I recall Data referring to his bio components is in “Deja Q” when he talks about how he’s built to eat/drink in order to lubricate his bio functions. Maybe getting drunk was something his maker gave him in order to emulate, we just never see that part of Data ever again...

I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

Right, he’s described as being a “biological mechanical”. Maybe he was originally envisioned to be like a replicant from BLADE RUNNER where his creators went through great lengths to make him more human than human. That’s what they did with Cylons in BSG 2003.
