    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I simply cannot afford the XL ships anymore- I wish they would release the reasonably priced smaller replicas for these new subjects. Still expensive but something I can work into my budget. Of the XL line I only managed to swing three- the 2009 Klingon Warbird, the NX-01 Refit and the Orville.

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Didn't the Picard Rebuild have some missing hull plates on the nacelles? They were shown in the design sketches (along with heavier burn marks from the reentry) but the they way they filmed the scenes I never could get a close look for them...

I agree. It was nice to see the Doctor extend his range but I simply did not care for the story

Spoilers Lucky Day grade and discussion thread

My favorite part was when Ruby was describing the Shreek and the diner darkened, lighting went red and it became night outside. When she finished everything popped back to normal, well done. This season is better than the last IMO

Spoilers The Well grade and discussion thread

I stopped watching when the planet's original name was mentioned and went back to watch the original episode. Seemed to be two different creatures involved, not the original returning I still liked the new show, well done

    Unseen TOS....

When Larry Niven was writing the novel 'The Mote in God's Eye' he had a model of the Leif Ericson sitting on his desk. The books description of the MacArthur is based on the model, right down to the large swinging bay doors. I really like the design, had an original kit with the record and...

I had something saved at Check out and the sent a reminder? When I clicked on it it went to the same password protected page. Odd thing is when you click on the lock symbol in the upper right corner it asks If I am a shop owner. Same thing happens now just going to that site with any browser...

    A Klingon contradiction?

I think the Klingons are very pragmatic with technology. They find something that works, a good reliable weapon, a good hull design, and this tech does what they need it for. Minor upgrades happen, but they are comfortable with what works. When the Klingons encounter a new species or situation...

Wolf 359 Prelude, Parts I and II

I read somewhere an interesting idea that there were actually two ships at the battle named Melbourne. One was being decommissioned and it's replacement was finishing test trials. Desprjte for vessels they sent both ships to Wolf 359

    California Class. TOS style.

I thought the same until they revealed the Akira class. While it does have those hull catamarans, the mean hunkered down look complete with a roll bar weapons pod really has that Reliant vibe for me.

Spoilers Empire of Death grade and discussion thread

I liked how the first part of the episode created a totally hopeless situation, you could just feel the devastating. I did not care much for how it was resolved, I just felt cheated. When Matt Smith defeated the Silence with the Apollo landing broadcast, it really felt fantastic to see a...

Can anybody do a frame grab showing 14? I have watched this clip many times but my 66 year old eyes can't spot him

Spoilers The Legend of Ruby Sunday grade and discussion thread

Same here. I watched a lot the classic shows but Sutekh never stuck with me. I throughly enjoyed this episode, first one this season. It wasn't perfect but having so many red herrings and setting up an anticipated plot lines which suddenly turned left. I thought that the software/OS that Susan...

Ways that SNW actually improved TOS

My favorite is still the TOS, followed by SNW then TNG. Each works well in context. If the NX ever got it's refit in season 5 that would be a contender. About the only Enterprise I hate is the B- those extra plant on just look like that. If they had gone with the original idea of having those...

I much prefer the more subtle approach like this where people are debating it exists or not instead of being slammed in the face repeatedly with it like in a couple of prior seasons with 13

Spoilers Dot and Bubble grade and discussion thread

I still think it was more of a social clique issue but watching it again I can see the racism angle. I find it refreshing though not being preached at for an entire show over and over again, #13 episodes were terrible about that.

Spoilers Dot and Bubble grade and discussion thread

I liked this episode for the most part. I loved the way those creatures were basically designed to eat a person who walks directly into them, no way they could chase down prey but their vertical mouths were people sized and they could just stand and wait. I never saw a society more deserving of...
