Sightings of Trek Alumni on TV shows!

So it would look nicer and be easier for casual reading then as your quoted version of my post.

Sightings of Trek Alumni on TV shows!

I was on CBS All-Access and decided to watch "Mission: Impossible" and randomly picked the S1E10 episode entitled "The Carriers." Now I know that Leonard Nimoy was a member of the IMF team for S4 and S5 but I didn't now was George Takai was a member of the IMF first in S1. What a fun find...

Sightings of Trek Alumni on TV shows!

Watching an episode of Laramie entitled "The Runt" on Grit TV. Leonard Nimoy and Michael Forest (Apollo in "Who Mourns For Adonis") play villainous brothers. Good stuff!

    Are the Blish novelizations canon?

That's funny considering Roddenberry constantly rewriting things until the last moment was probably the single biggest reason for the discrepancies in the first place. If the problem lessened than I would guess it was in S3 when Roddenberry was gone.

The Influence of Stingray on Star Trek?

For "those in the know," a more valid question would be "the influence of 'Rocky Jones, Space Ranger' on Star Trek?" The original Star Trek series was Rocky Jones for an older audience.

    Are the Blish novelizations canon?

I still find the individual collections in used book stores and recommend them for the various covers over a giant omnibus. Having said that: James Blish's Star Trek Omnibus

    Are the Blish novelizations canon?

I have a personal fondness for the James Blish adaptions as I lived in an area that didn't get Star Trek reruns until the mid-1970s. My recollection, honestly, is that "back in the day" fans were not quite as "canon" retentive. Fandom was bit more "go with the flow." Blish's adaptions, if I...

CBS and Paramount officially back together

Except now the two leads will partner up to solve international crimes with the help of a psychic dolphin named "Delgado," and they'll drive a Chevy Spark EV. The Tommy Lee Jones character will be played by Randall Park while Javier Bardem's role will be taken over by Parker Posey. Tentatively...

When one purchases a comic book from Comixology isn't it downloaded to the customer's devices of choice?

    JD's Comic Book Thread

Thank you. One more question, do you use Comixology free or did you subscribe to their "Unlimited," $5.99 per month, plan? I will be downloading the Comixology app and maybe even give their monthly subscription a try. I am primarily looking to collect the Bronze Age issues (1970 - 1983) and they...

    JD's Comic Book Thread

I have long sought to get back into comic books. At the height of my collection I had about 6500 comics, but like many had to sell most off. Of course it is not economically feasible to try and repurchase those physical editions, however, I was looking at a company called Comixology. They deal...

Contest: ENTER Movies Caption Contest # 271: The Search for the LeadHead

Chekov: Keptin, I am picking up a nasally voice calling out, "Vun ringy dingy. Two ringy dingy." followed by some sort of snorting sounds.

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 1x10 - "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2"

I disagree. I believe they were pretty clear in that it is only the context of time that gives life meaning. To have immortality thrust upon a being who has not evolved to it would be a torturous and inhumane thing to do. They were not glorifying death rather reinforcing the precious thing that...

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 1x10 - "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2"

I'm confused by your use of "on his own terms."? Both of Data's deaths were on his own terms. I don't believe his second-death was necessary but won't hold it against them other than to say the ending in general was pleasantly hokey between Picard's resurrection, data's death do over and the...

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 1x10 - "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2"

I gave this episode an 8. A bit anti climatic and too easy a resolution for something that was made to feel so complex. Picard's resurrection was telegraphed in the previous episode so that was expected (I did previously mention a "What little girls are made of" feel to the Soong/Jurati scene...
