Honestly, I thought that was the answer. Had Lester been correct, the plot of the book wouldn't make sense. As far as I understand the Literary Trek interview, Mr Cox decided to keep the plot ideas and render Lester's beliefs incorrect. But I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime...
I listened to the Literary Trek episode about this book and I found it interesting that it was M. Clark's idea to give Chekov a love interest. When listening, I thought that the emotional attachments on both sides were really crucial for the plot!
Finished. While the book did go in the direction I predicted in the beginning
, it's a really solid tale which for me ticks all the Star Trek boxes, reminding us why we keep revisiting these characters and the setting.
I particularly liked and the shenanigans concerning the breaking up. I...
Man.
I, uh, didn't need that last thing to happen.
But it's such a well-scripted comic I will definitely read the next issue day one.
That said, I feel as if I'm missing many clues. Had there been some suggestion Wowie Carter would have his badass sequence? Or is it just Starfleet business as...
In the audiobook when considering boarding a luxury yacht our heroes listen to an 'Ardanian' (?) and there is mention of 'egalitarian reforms' taking place on their planet. What is this a reference to? (If anything.) I'd like to read up on those reforms
Oh boy. You're absolutely right. And here I had the impression I was reading the name for the first time in #5, this morning... that's what lack of sleep does to you.
In #5 (I forgot if not earlier) one of the characters is identified as . Is this the character we know from other Trek appearances, or is this a coincidence?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, the monthly breaks hamper understanding on my part;-)
Ooooooooh. Aha. A good one! A really well-told story altogether. Perhaps people reading the trade will enjoy it even more without having to recall the details after the monthly breaks...
With all due respect to R. Petkoff, I was wandering whether I would endure *TWO* characters with his Russian accent.
Oh well, I needn't have worried :-) [I guess? Hm. Time will tell.]
Hooked!
Starting the audiobook. The Historian's Note does not reference any particular episode but my TOS knowledge has, I'm afraid, become rusty. Is it recommended I rewatch something in particular?
Maybe I'm getting old but I just don't understand the action in this issue. Just, literally, what is going on in the panels. E.g. what happened to Hanna and the other crewmember? (And in a few places later on.)
Still: a fun read. I hope that at the end there's a meaningful story behing the...
Finished. I really enjoyed the main plot. And I do like which details the book is silent about; honestly, this way I don't feel *I'm* violating the relevant directive :-) I had a great time.
For me it seems the spies / saboteurs were hurdles to overcome in order to get to the main events :-)...
