Spoilers PIC: Second Self by Una McCormack Review Thread

Yeah, there was a long discussion about this here, right?... Anyway, I for one think this was great closure for a complicated, unique character.

Spoilers TNG: Pliable Truths by Dayton Ward - Review thread

Well, this one took its time to get going. But it took off eventually. Nice read, though I agree there was just too much padding. It was a good use of Madred. I can't believe noone had properly dealt with him in the novels?... He got what he deserved. Thinking about the plot, there were, I...

    So New novels $17.99

Obviously. But this thread is about the new pricing of ST novels. And my point is that apart from the absolute increase there is also a relative change; as evidenced by my screenshot, ebooks now cost (for me) roughly the same as paperbacks, and that simply wasn't the case, it's a new policy.

    So New novels $17.99

I don't see why the Ebooks need to cost $17.69, that's only 30 cents cheaper than the trade paperback... I made a screenshot of what Amazon is offering me with respect to the upcoming Greg Cox novel, here...

Spoilers PIC: Firewall by David Mack Review Thread

Just finished. Boy, when this novel got rolling, it rolled. Thanks to my younger kid taking two long naps, I have read 240 pages over the last two days, which of course is nothing special in itself, but is an achievement for any working father of two. It was certainly worth it. I was quite...

    2023/2024 comic releases

I'm itching for more SNW stuff. I know about the upcoming novel, but has anyone heard about any new comics? (I read the Illyrian Enigma and the Scorpius Run.)

What is happening with Star Trek literature?

I have read dozens of ST novels and I don't see anything worrying about the current ones. Actually, they seem to be more worked out, more carefully, meticulously conceived, when compared, say, to the old numbered TNG paperbacks (some of which I like very much). Dr. McCormack's novels are among...

Spoilers PIC: Second Self by Una McCormack Review Thread

Lynx, as far as I can see you're asking if there's a timeline across the ST media where Garak still has the potential to 'live happily ever after'. Then: the Novelverse isn't for you and the Picard timeline -- if you count the novels as establishing the part of the timeline -- which is, I guess...

Spoilers PIC: Second Self by Una McCormack Review Thread

I really like the closure this deep and mature novel gives Garak. Which, as far as I understand, is not the Novelverse Garak.

Obverse Books releasing The Gold Archive

Very sad. And aren't some of the books already written? If so, I hope some arrangement is made so we can eventually buy them. Best wishes for Mr Simpson.

Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

Apparently, to celebrate Star Trek day or whatever, the Powers have decided to remove Lower Decks from Prime in Poland. There is now no way to legally watch LD or Discovery in Poland -- even though SkyShowtime is available here. Why aren't we allowed to pay for these Star Trek series? Are they...

News Star Trek Prodigy Cancelled, Season 2 to be shopped around

Amazing. It's not enough to cancel the show? It really has to be *removed* from the streaming service?...

    Latest acquisition!

Oh boy, did I mess it up! The seller put up this book as published in 1997 and I grabbed it before checking any details; happy to have received it, I posted it here without properly inspecting it. But indeed, it is "Insurrection", and it was published in Polish in 2000, contrary to the seller's...
