Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

The series doesn’t start filming until early 2021. They haven’t even finished their application for a UK tax credit yet, so hold your horses on the bonkers notion it’ll start airing next month and has sets. The studio they are filming in hasn’t even reopened yet.

Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

If this is a joint production with Sky, I hope they mandate exceptional cinematography. Their shows are generally jaw dropping, even the cheaper productions invest in production values and camera angles. With the added visual effects work, this could be on the same level as The Mandalorian and...

And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I’m fairly open with moderators and decent members about the sources, and have various private message conversations. You could privately ask me instead of being a bitch.

And the Next Cancelled Show is...

How do you know the outcome of pitches that haven’t happened yet?

And the Next Cancelled Show is...

    It’s not.

Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

They can flesh it out a lot more. The attack doesn’t need to happen until the end of season 1, and they can properly set up the justification for it, all the characters, etc.

And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Yes, and they are all retooling. Unsure what wasn’t clear there. For Clarice specifically,

    Yes actually.

Same source I get my Star Trek and now Clarice info from. Clarice is undergoing rewrites and a recasting this weekend.

Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

It was always officially a reboot, but Sam Esmail was trying to make out it was linked to the 2003 series. Except they’re casting a new Adama and Starbuck, so if it is linked, it’s still a reboot of some sort.

And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I’ve heard the ViacomCBS top brass have mandated all police and military series are retooled or cancelled.

Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

Talking of padding, I predict the first season of the reboot to be 'Saga of a Star World' expanded to 10 hours. London seems to be the stand-in for Caprica City or whatever name they go with.

    News? Stories from Dubious Sources

ViacomCBS have given Alex Kurtzman 5 straight to series orders in a row for shows without even shooting pilots, and he has another 3 straight to series orders coming up. There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to any of these firing reports, nor this truly absurd idea he has beef with National...

Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

Hmm... Okay. I feel the opening scene to Gangs of London will be representative of BSG21's overall tone:

Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

My box set for Caprica had 3 different DVD sets within it. Feature length uncut pilot Season 1 with two more versions of the pilot Season 1.5 with some sort of fake "next on" for Season 2 That suggests a really sloppy release, but to be honest, I don't remember. Not a particularly memorable...

It was released weirdly if I remember correctly.

Not to mention this will likely be a hard TV-MA series. Specifically (and this is a huge indication of who is/was attached to direct the pilot) Gangs of London levels of TV-MA. They won’t soil the show with The Orville type silliness.
