    Sloppy AI Image....

Hey, would you want Elon Musk's head photoshopped onto your body? Extreme example, I know. :D The Spock photo was used for the paperback edition of Nimoy's book....with phaser removed:

    Thanks for the info! :)

Speaking of Kirstie, someone photoshopped her head onto Grace Lee Whitney's body, which is rather disrespectful to both: I had never chanced upon that photo in the upper left corner. That looks a lot like Kirk's alternate uniform tunic! Can it be that Bill Theiss was inspired by that?

    Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Loving it! Reminds me of what my wife and I did to our good friend and neighbor. Her name is Mary, and she gave us this great little lamp. So.... Mary had a little lamp Its bulb was white as snow And everywhere that Mary went The lamp was sure to glow!

What Song Are You Listening to Right Now

'Ashes of Eden' by Breaking Benjamin. I'm not a fan of religion, but like the song, anyway. It reminds me of what follows. :)

    What are you reading?

Seven Days in May Here is a quote from a page that I just finished: "The President trusts Russia. The American people do not." :shifty:;)

What episodes do you most remember from watching Star Trek as a kid?

I was born on April 20, 1967 and 'The City on the Edge of Forever' had aired on April 6. One of my older half-brothers had watched the series from the beginning. I have always wondered if my mother was watching that episode (never got around to asking her), because it has always competed with...

    Sloppy AI Image....

Then....let me see if I understand correctly: The wide usage of it since 2017 is a case of a bunch of others latching onto it and using it in ways that the one who made it never intended? If this was not a 'commissioned' piece, or a make-it-to-sell-it....then, okay.

    Mental Wellness Support Group

The one who was going to be my new therapist.... I had explained that just at the time I was going to set up my first appointment, I had the abscessed tooth to deal with. Her exact words: "Take your time." I just got back to her and explained about the hospital causing me and my wife to get...

Your Calls: CGI Made it Better, CGI Made it Worse.

That brought this to mind. Slap a few extra pieces on, blur it out a bit, and voila....copyright successfully circumvented:

    Sloppy AI Image....

It's interesting to me that we've reached a point where anyone would let a piece like that go out the door as a finished product. Especially in the case of Chekov's forehead, if nothing else. Yeah, based on six-fingered hands, and blobs here and there in AI-generated stuff, I did think that the...

    Sloppy AI Image....

I haven't seen 'The Tholian Web' in quite a long time, but something about that image of Chekov sparked a memory of him reacting to seeing Kirk in the environmental suit on the main viewscreen. Sure enough, I think it's basically a modification of this:

Your Calls: CGI Made it Better, CGI Made it Worse.

I will be turning 58 next month. I first saw Star Trek in early syndication and saw TAS in first-run. I find the current CGI to be a mixed bag. Some good, some not so good. 'The Doomsday Machine' was always my favorite episode. Someone posted a side-by-side of clips from the original and the...

    Sloppy AI Image....

There was an article discussing tv shows that were before their time and this was the image that was used for Star Trek. The movie ships mixed in. And poor Chekov looks like the Ceti eel is now under the skin of his forehead! :p

    Things that frustrate us all

Very understandable. The seeking, only to be disappointed cycle is one that I have stepped away from, too.

    Mental Wellness Support Group

My wife and I both had very controlling and manipulative parents and other relatives. We both had a lot of negative experiences in school, with 'peers'. I also had a very negative experience with the Catholic Church, from age 7 to age 10. Our traumas have bounced against each other A LOT. At...

    Things that frustrate us all

I hear you on that. I turn 58 next month and I have had a very strange and problem-plagued life, myself. I am a collector of vintage lawn mowers, which is a small niche hobby to begin with and then complicated by so many who go the same route as too many of the classic car fans....bragging...

The End of an Era: Discontinued products, services, and defunct companies

That's the one! :techman: Something else I thought of is that Aqua Velva aftershave came in a lot of different fragrances besides Ice Blue. They had Frost Lime, Redwood, Surf, Menthol, and Musk over the years. The first two were favorites of mine that my dad had at times. Unopened bottles and...

The End of an Era: Discontinued products, services, and defunct companies

My wife worked at Suncoast for a while, back in the 90s, before we met. A year ago, I got a great deal on a Dell laptop on ebay. It was about $72 total. It's from 2018 and was hardly ever used. Super-clean. I wanted it specifically for the cd/dvd burner. People have been posting awesome...

    Things that frustrate us all

Also, the ones who play road games. In October of 2012, I was on the interstate in Nebraska and there was a stretch where several drivers were passing and re-passing each other, slowing down, speeding up, and in general acting like a bunch of little kids. When there was a brief pause, I seized...
