Good lord. I am absolutely floored by this piece of work. The intracacy involved. The amount of lore and the passion for not just Trek, but politics in general. It is so good, it makes me want to be interested in history in general. How? How does this happen? It's addictive reading.

Not to be controversial, but I think the next Star Trek show should go to space.

Season 3 of Discovery is finally when the show gets good. I remember sighing in relief in the first 5 minutes of the first episode. It finally found a point of view. It had a characterization of Burnham besides "whatever the plot dictates." And was free of the shackles of canon.

I love the Special Longer Version. The things that were removed for the Theatrical/Director's Editions seemed to be character beats. It does stall the pacing of the movie, buuuuuuut it needs some person to person interaction. Special Longer Version has more of those.
