Spoilers What does SNW get right that DSC and PIC got wrong??

Its just fun, SNW doesn't have the baggage of unresolved storylines and character arcs like Picard did. They set out to have SNW be a touch lighter in tone when possible. I enjoyed Picard, I enjoy SNW, I don't think either got anything "right" or "wrong", they're just different.

SNW needs an alien crew member

It can be hard to do aliens as main cast since it means extensive time in makeup. There are some exceptions, like Doug Jones who has spent most of his professional career in full makeup

Or SNW is electing to not be bound to "Arenas" framework and is just introducing the Gorn earlier and more prominently

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10 - "Hegemony"

A reminder to the folks who are trying to square things not lining up perfectly with TOS.. The show runners have already said they're going to be adjusting some things in this one, which is basically going to overwrite certain things in the canon, such as who mets who and when and what shows up...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10 - "Hegemony"

Pretty sure TNG showed multiple times that when "llife support" went offline or was failing that it was a gradual decline in both air/heating/cooling quality and quantity

The exposed pipes and hardware junctions were also meant to evoke that submarine feel. The SNW Enterprise feels like a good balance between mechanical rawness in many ways (some exposed hardware, physical controls, etc) and the exceptionally fantastical JJVerse Enterprise

TrekMovie is home to some really really bitter, very resentful and hard to please people. Not surprised they're up in arms.

Two decks across the full span including the edge. The core of the saucer appears to be Six or Seven decks not counting the bridge structure. There's a large amount of void spaces on the lower saucer area going towards the sensor/weapons locations which do not appear to be habitable

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10 - "Hegemony"

Yes...but I was meaning that the reason for Vulcans not being in starfleet is more about Vulcan bigotry towards humans and Starfleet, not the other way around

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10 - "Hegemony"

Its worth noting that this episode takes place only around 99 years after the formation of the Federation, and Andorians, Telarites and Vulcans (with Earth) were the first founding members. We don't really know exactly how many planets are in the Federation right now, so its not really terribly...

Paul Wesley's incarnation of James T. Kirk

Shatner had the advantage of a long, long "aging hiatus" from around 1990 until around 2015. The man has earned his age and deserves his golden years despite the character assassination that George Takei has campaigned for the last two decades or more

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x03 - "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow"

The difference between a different timeline and a different universe is fairly minor and Star Trek uses them interchangably.
