    1/350 polar lights model questions

Luckily I solved the issue, but that would be cool

    1/350 polar lights model questions

So uhh, found out what the issue was. But before that, no I did not test anything before I put the lights onto each part, I like to live on the edge. I didn’t glue parts together but it turns out the issue was not with the wiring. For whatever reason, the 12v power was coming out of the black...

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Update: everything is repainted and decals are on. Everything is weird up but when I plug it in, only the engine motor spins, all lights do not light up. I have double checked and everything is plugged in correctly including the leds. Any advice or ideas as to why this is?

    1/350 polar lights model questions

I am in the US. I checked the lows website and they don’t carry it online. I will try to go to one next week. If that falls through, I found I custom paint matching service that can match the color of it. any one know if Gary Kurr would be willing to sell a paint chip of the production hull color?

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Another update: almost everything is all painted on the 1/350 scale model. On a related note, I think I messed up when I was mixing my paint for the production hull gray. I tried to recreate it with the recipe I have (12 parts white, 2 parts lemon yellow, 2 parts ultramarine blue, and one part...

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Today is the day that I’ve decided to start the 1/350 model. A few questions before I start: 1.) what order should I light, glue, sand, and paint the sub assemblies in? I was thinking nacelles and bridge then saucer then neck and then secondary hull. 2.) what glue should I use to glue the...

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Update: decided not to invest in an air brush, money is tight and the last thing I need is another skill to learn in order to complete this. I remember why I hate the 1/1000 scale model so much, with the amount of sanding and cutting I had to do, I hope the 1/350 will be better because I will...

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Update: painting the 1:1000 model, anyone recommend an affordable air brush? The brush strokes are visible in the paint, know that this is a sign that I need to thin it more, and I think that an airbrush would give me an even coat of paint.

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Question about mixing acrylic paints by parts. I used an online tool to convert the hex colors of the colors I need for the enterprise into recipes that list how much of each color I should mix to get the correct color (1 part blue 1part yellow etc), my question is how should I measure/pour the...

Did you paint over the primer color, or is that hull gray just the primer?

    1/350 polar lights model questions

I’m just fine with all of the questions, just wanted to give more clarity to my position. I bought Krylon base coat, this was back in October I think. As for paints, I have a mix of Windsor and Newton and Grumbacher brand paints. Feel free to ask more questions if it can help you answer my...

    1/350 polar lights model questions

I should note a few things, I already have the masking kit from orbital dry dock, I was just wondering how good the decals look vs painting them and if the effort of painting them on is worth it, I will come back to that once I get to that step. I do not have an airbrush and I am not using...

    1/350 polar lights model questions

Thank you all for the advice about painting, building, and making a smaller model first. I will take your advice to heart. I was not planning on using putty and sanding, but I am potentially reconsidering because of how much I have invested in this. With respect to making a 1/1000 model, which...

I am about to begin working on the 1/350 TOS enterprise from polar lights and have a few questions regarding the process and mounting it. first things first, I should note that I have no experience with making or painting models so any advice would be appreciated. The first question is about the...

New member with a few questions

Thanks for the reply. I have read everything on your site which I found through some star trek wiki, all of the work you have done is really impressive, I knew that you built two 2/3 scale models before you made your 33inch replica, so I just wanted to make sure that it was the 33-inch model. As...
