I think I'd like the SNW Enterprise much better if they hadn't gone for that very reflective finish on it. Makes me think of aluminum foil and fragility. Regardless, Hunter's version is by far the best I've seen anywhere.

Agreed, with the exception of Picard's third season, which started off unbelievably strong ("they've actually learned!") and then completely fell to pieces at the end, IMO. :ack:

When they find the progenitor device/gateway, they waste minutes waxing philosophically about how amazing it is that it's been there for hundreds of years INSTEAD OF JUST GRABBING IT BECAUSE THEY'RE LITERALLY IN A RACE TO GET THIS THING. And then, of course, Moll+Breen show up and just nab it...

It's sad that we've gotten so few moments like these for the other characters throughout the series.

That's a good way to look at it, although I don't think that was the intent. My immediate reaction to her pouring out all that sand from the half-filled bucket was, "SHE'S POURING IT OUT WAY TOO FAST!" The nice-looking overhead look we were shown made it seem like it would take hours if not days...

+ Beautiful effects work in many scenes - Not enough has been done to make Moll sympathetic. She's single-mindedly selfish to the point of destroying the galaxy for her emotional needs. Not enough backstory there to make us feel that makes sense and not that she's a psychopath. + Some good...

Yup. It was about endurance and willpower, not speed. There were only two contestants left at the end. They weren't just the first to get to the finish - they were the only ones to get to the finish.
