I assume the only reason it doesn't get a home release is if after the Skydance takeover, they decide they want to get out of the home media market for whatever reason.
It seems unlikely, but I kind of hope they get the rights to the French track for Canada because I liked that dub. Although I...
As I said in the finale thread, it's probably my favourite series in the franchise. Just a wonderful love letter to the the past and the current slate of Trek shows.
Also perhaps the best crew in Trek that really captured the found family feeling so naturally.
I think they were designed to be 10 episode "arcs" like the first season. Of course this was probably meant to air weekly as well, which likely impacts the pacing as well.
Even the official Star Trek page doesn't have any info for Canada. lol

At this point I just hope a disc is made so I can buy it. Bonus if I can buy it on iTunes, but I'm not holding my breath.
The Star Trek deals happened because CBS was more than happy to take someone's money for the rights especially since Paramount Plus wasn't in Canada at the time.
But for whatever reason all those international deals with Prodigy weren't part of whatever deals they made for all the other shows...
Yeah you'd assume it'd come out at the same time or they'd announce something.
You have to use "military grade encryption" as the Youtubers call it to find ways to use Netflix in Canada to watch it I guess.
I skipped to the end because I already watched it in French and the ending still hits me so hard, particularly that montage of the entire series. It was just a beautiful summary of their journey and the whole found family aspect of the crew.
I think it's the best finale of the franchise...
I guess the argument is that the tech allowed the Progenitors to spread themselves across the galaxy without needing warp or anything and helped uplift their civilization, similar to if someone dropped the internal combustion engine into ancient Egypt or something.
It's not clear why they would...
At least Ford built something. Musk has done nothing buy buy things and slap his name on them. But this is veering into TNZ territory. lol
I just think whoever wrote that episode bought into the propaganda and here we are. The joke that Lorca is from the Mirror Universe is it makes sense he...
Prodigy's nostalgia isn't dependent on any knowledge of Voyager or other shows though. For its intended audience, their parents would have been children or teens when Voyager came out, so it's not counting on people knowing who Janeway is at least.
Just to note, Molly and Moll are two different beings. Molly is the space worm from S3 - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/lxYLY5
It's just unfortunate that they have similar sounding names.
You would either download the Apple TV app on your computer (or Apple device) and then search for Prodigy there, or if you do live with people who have cable and pay for "CTV Sci-Fi Channel", then they can go to ctv.ca and log in using their credentials (typically the same account they use to...
She's the Vulcan I think?
I think it's not likely. The thing with S2 is that they had a complete product to sell, since they presumably ordered production of all 40 episodes and just opted not to air 20 of them. Netflix was paying for a completed show that they knew CBS didn't want, so I...
I really disliked S1 - the Elon Musk line is still burned in my memory and is an example of how bad it was to me - and while S2 wasn't perfect, it birthed SNW and set up the move to the 32nd century.
I still think S3 is a missed opportunity. Rewatching the first episode, I still got chills...
But they're in a post scarcity world and it seems like the only suffering that exists is because of their adherence to the Prime Directive and their unwillingness to help pre-war civilizations and non-Federation worlds. Clearly over population isn't an issue either if two people can have a...
I can theoretically see going a step further - finding out that you're a creation of an ancient alien species is one thing, finding out how they did it is another. But the answer wasn't interesting (another set of even "ancient-er" aliens created it) and it can create life and new worlds, but...
I watched bits of S3 again and they clearly try to correct for that, particularly with Detmer. They just wrote themselves into a middle ground that isn't satisfying for anyone. I think they're more important that you do, but I don't think either of us are wrong.
The problem is that this was framed as "meaning of life" stuff... and while instantaneous travel across the universe is certainly life changing, clearly they were talking about how the ability to create life out of nothing. Except if they can't recreate the soul, what's the point other than a...
