What happened to Star Trek Magazine

Thanks for the tip! Hadn't picked up any of these yet but now I've ordered them all.

Star Trek Generations novelization with original Kirk ending available anywhere in digital?

As a kid, I was very confused by the photo inserts in my edition of 2001: A Space Odyssey, where the characters went to Jupiter, unlike the book I was reading, where they went to Saturn.

Spoilers LDS: Warp Your Own Way by Ryan North & Chris Fenoglio Review Thread

I just wrote up a review of this for my blog (I'll post it here when it goes live), but as part of that, I put together a diagram of the book. I thought other people might like to see that, so here it is...

    2025 Comics Thread

I get that other properties are more popular than Star Trek, but I feel like every comics publisher of every archival property is able to make collections of 1980s-90s material sell... except for IDW. And now their problem is that, given that every reprint line they attempt fizzles out after two...

So What Are you Reading?: Generations

I have it on reserve at the local library, whenever they get their copy in. As a writing professor, I very much appreciate Adam Kotsko's writing on a totally different topic, the growing literacy crisis.

Spoilers LDS: Warp Your Own Way by Ryan North & Chris Fenoglio Review Thread

There's no standards that bar tie-ins from competing in the Hugos, so I am not even sure what you are complaining about here.

Spoilers LDS: Warp Your Own Way by Ryan North & Chris Fenoglio Review Thread

I don't really see how it's relevant what the percentage is, what matters is the absolute numbers. And though most years there's one finalist whose presence of the shortlist baffles me (e.g., Legends & Lattes), I'd say most of the finalists are heads-and-shoulders above tie-in fiction. No Star...

Spoilers LDS: Warp Your Own Way by Ryan North & Chris Fenoglio Review Thread

To be honest, as someone who has read every Hugo-nominated work of fiction since 2017 and has regularly consumed tie-in media since I was about twelve, I think you could count the number of tie-in works that would fit in on a Hugo ballot on one hand. I enjoy tie-in fiction a lot, but very little...

Spoilers LDS: Warp Your Own Way by Ryan North & Chris Fenoglio Review Thread

This would make it the first Star Trek tie-in to ever be a Hugo finalist.

    2025 Comics Thread

I always parse it as LD, but yes, it's surprisingly terrible.

Is Pocket Books embarrassed about allowing Ishmael's crossover to slip through?

Though there is a lot to admire about Voyages of Imagination, one thing I find annoying about it is that if an author says nothing about a topic—or even a whole book—in an interview, Jeff Ayres does no research and cites no other sources on a topic. It stops the book from being the definitive...

    Author Habits That Annoy You

Also the proliferation of miniseries and trilogies and stuff meant some books ended up being double numbered: Star Trek #79: Invasion!, Book One: First Strike or Star Trek: The Next Generation #49: The Q Continuum, Book Three of Three: Q-Strike. It's a lot of numbers! Later in the numbered era...

Ah, you must mean the Leon Uris tome, then.

Reading Marathon: The Typhon Pact... and Beyond!

Yes, Enigma Tales is coming up. I'm following a placement @Jinn suggested to me, which is after Available Light and Collateral Damage.

    Author Habits That Annoy You

There's a small press I otherwise like but they number every page, including the title and copyright pages, starting from 1 and going up. It (I guess irrationally) annoys me. I'm like, "have you guys ever looked at another book? no one does that!"

    2023/2024 comic releases

Finally, a job in Starfleet for which my Ph.D. in English makes me eminently qualified! I'll have to work this into my next Star Trek Adventures campaign.

What did you read in 2024?

Oh, yes, that was exactly where I got that from.
  20. Stevil2001

What did you read in 2024?

Yes, my sequence in my Destiny-era thread has been derived from your work and @Jinn's. (What's the telltale?) Oh, and listing favorites is fun. Here are mine from last year (just in the order I read them): The Wife in Space series by Neil and Sue Perryman The Long Tomorrow by Leigh Brackett To...
