Looks like a Romulan disruptor to me
There are three members of the 'main cast' who are Romulans, so we are going to get a LOT of Romulans for sure. I have to imagine they are going to deal with the destruction of Romulus here (which I think was confimed by Kurtzman some time ago). Although I...
I feel like the Vanguard stuff has been covered enough for now. I wouldn't mind seeing some stuff with Jellico.
I would also agree with doing a Lorca book.
The show seems to imply that at the start of DSC the Empire was very loose and if there was a Chancellor he was likely not very powerful. Kol was just the head of one of the stronger Houses who took the opportunity with T'Kuvma's actions to seize power. This is all a lot different than what we...
I think it was something like 10 years between the story in Worlds of DS9 about the Dominion with the Great Link disbanding, and finding out what happened after that. I believe it wasn't until Sacraments of Fire or the other one where we found out that the Ascendants were responsible for killing...
I think the original plan was to fill in the gaps between where DS9 was at, and where the rest of Trek Lit was at. The problem is that DS9 fell behind, and then there were editorial changes which I believe necessitated a quick time jump to catch up to the Typhon Pact. For some time we didn't get...
It's almost certainly not going to happen. The Activision games are in legal hell and may never come out of that. Activision actually sued Viacom in 2002, claiming they had mishandled the IP and wanted out of their contract. It has been pretty much downhill for ST games since the early 2000s...
The last two JJTrek/Kelvinverse films have ended up being delayed so I'm not surprised this one is also taking awhile to just even get greenlit.
Beyond was better than ST:ID but I would like more of an exploration focused film than yet another 'Earth/the Federation is in danger and we have to...
Late to the party here. I finished this book in the past week, and I thought it was a step back from some of the more interesting stuff in the last book of the series, where we had the Ware and some more uniquely alien civilizations. I guess I'm just tired of this long-running Sauria plot that...
I'm very curious as to what he is referring to when he says that we've heard mention of this event or incident that is the basis of the series before. Especially since that era is not well traveled in canon form.
Fuller knows what he's doing, he's not going to run roughshod over important canon...
The Franklin certainly looks older....and that bridge is way smaller than the NX-01. The size comparison chart makes it look like that ship probably had a crew in the double digits at most. That mission patch certainly makes it look like it's supposed to be an Earth Starfleet ship.
Finished it this week.....it was alright. I think the shifting timeline messed too much with the progression of the story, to be honest. I also didn't get too interested in Maxwell here. The Robert Hooke was an interesting idea, but I think the characters came off too quirky to feel believable...
The biggest example I can think of a book being retconned would be Starfleet: Year One, which was written almost immediately before Enterprise aired. I know some of the ENT: Romulan War and Rise of the Federation books have tried to keep certain aspects of what the book presented though.
Re: Starting the Enterprise relaunch soon. Maybe I'll post thoughts he
So far the best RotF book was the most recent one. The first two were alright, but I felt they were weaker than some of the early Relaunch/Romulan War book stuff. My main issue is that I really don't care about the Orions...
After finishing this the other day, I was surprised there was little focus on how the planet killer got to that planetoid at all. It seemed like it was just mentioned and then not really followed up on.
Maybe I'm crazy, but it seemed like a few plot threads that were started/hinted at went...
I'm really hopeful they can do more stuff like the prologue of STID, which was probably the most fun I've had of any scene in the two reboot films. It felt like an updated version of TOS that didn't stray too far from what we should get from a Star Trek property.
I just hope we don't get...
One thing I remember is that in the technical manual they had some mention of an entire deck devoted for aquatic species or something like that, but due to budgetary constraints they could never put that on the show in any way. At least in the Titan series they realize some of those ideas of...
