Could do it using a forwarding company, so you paid your shipping charge to TOMY and gave the forwarder as your shipping address, then they were going to ship it to me for £100 or more. Then VAT would be another £100, then it instantly becomes more than the £718 TOMY are now selling directly to...
I cancelled my US order and placed a UK order last week. I’d considered keeping my original order as there’s a 6 month extra lead time on UK orders, but I worked out it would be slightly cheaper re-ordering when you add up the original cost plus VAT, delivery fees etc, and I’m assuming I’ll be a...
I never got the impression that Picard and Janeway knew each other that well, just that they had met at least once in the past. He didn’t call her by first name either when I’m sure we’ve seen him do that in the past with Random Admiral of the Week.
The worst bit of that scene was the...
I think it would have been DS9 they ended up on rather than Terok Nor, as the show was originally mean to have premiered earlier so Starfleet would already have been there, had things panned out as planned. The Ferengi they meet at the non-descript bar was supposed to have been Quark, presumably...
That’s a great music edit cutting short the original ending cue and transitioning to the deleted ending.
Did you consider putting the original ending where it was in the script, i.e. straight after the Picard/Riker goodbye scene in the ready room, with the Picard/B4 scene placed before them...
I’m in the UK and decided to order one via a forwarding company. Sure enough my cc declined the transaction. Then TOMY emailed me with a link to retry once I’d sorted the card out. But the link was faulty and didn’t work. So I emailed them reporting this, and instantly got an automated reply...
There was at least one formation of Defiant class ships in the fleet scenes in the last two episodes, although they were absolutely tiny on screen.
Could the Constitution in the credits possibly be a Constitution-III?
I remember the shot with Worf’s “I recommend extreme caution” line in the trailer had finished effects. Always wondered if other deleted scenes got as far as having finished effects, or if that shot was just completed for the trailer.
Hard to say as it looks like the deleted scenes on the DVDs...
It’s been a long time since I read that script too, are there any full length scenes left in it that are not included in any of the deleted scenes packages that were released? I remember missing trims of existing scenes, like a longer version of Data singing at the wedding where Riker joins him...
After doing some digging I found where I read this: on this very forum 10 years ago. It looks like Larry Nemecek was the original source, and it certainly sounds plausible enough so I suppose it’s reasonable to assume it’s true...
It’s a shame this scene has never been released on any of the DVD/Blu-ray releases. I seem to remember the reason being they couldn’t track down the actors playing the Dabo girls in order to clear the scene for release.
AI Majel's voice on the Roddenberry Archive reminds me very much of her actual voice on the old Star Trek Omnipedia CD-ROM (basically a digital version of the Encyclopedia at the time).
If they did end up going back to the negatives and rescanning they’d need to reframe everything anyway wouldn’t they, given the 35mm frame contains far more picture information than what we see onscreen, even if it wasn’t filmed 16x9 “safe”.
CBS (or whoever they contracted it to) did a half...
I wouldn’t say an episode released in 2000 and a book released in 2022 qualifies as “constantly”.
Plus the book is non-canon of course, and can easily be ignored if you like, without having to ignore the last decade’s worth of Trek productions along with it.
I've been watching DS9 via Netflix recently on a 65" 4K screen and still find it extremely watchable. I still see a massive (and obvious) difference between watching HD TNG and SD DS9, but... its fine. For me anyway. Maybe its more jarring at first, but after an episode or two you get used to it...
Always amazes me how much misinformation gets spread about TNG, DS9 and/or VOY in relation to how they were filmed/edited/mastered, whether it be here, Twitter/X or elsewhere. Ranging from “they were shot on tape” to “DS9 and VOY were all 100% CGI effects.” The above comments about TNG being...
Have to say, as Tosk mentioned above, these are impressive results given the poor quality of the source material.
I tried my own fan edit of Nemesis about 15 years ago but never finished it, so I’m following this with interest. The thread for it on this board is probably still around somewhere.
