The TV license isn't remotely mandatory. It has never been mandatory. It pays for specific services (BBC content, regional channels, radio) and the infrastructure that live terrestrial broadcasting requires. You only need one to use those facilities. I don't, and haven't had a license for years...
Suspect this will be the Chibnall era's epitaph.
Sad that we've pivoted from Moff's "Exciting, energetic, well-acted, convoluted bollocks" to Chib's "Simple stories, drearily told". God, this show needs a bomb under it. Took me three days to watch last week's because the first 30 minutes were...
Maybe someone in the know can correct me on this but I'm pretty sure Davies' contract wasn't a Terry Nation type deal where a species he came up with for one episode would be his intellectual property. I know the BBC is daft but it's not stupid. Ok it is stupid, but it does employ lawyers.

All I want to see is Picard in the Hague answering questions about why he sat out the war while good lads gave their lives
It's not funny. Jake lost a father you fucking coward. You bald fuck
About 70 hours into Assassin's Creed Syndicate and not entirely convinced that the bastard ever ends. I have reached what feels like the mid point of the story and about 55% of the map is still uncovered.
Also have started State of Mind on switch which is a near-future adventure game about...
People are free to interpret art any way they like, but Clarke's third law is a recurring theme on Star Trek and quite central to the whole Bajor joining the Federation arc. I never thought there was any intended ambiguity for the audience as to whether or not the prophets are "wormhole aliens"...
