    Factory Entertainment's 'Assault Phaser'

Probably because they have no idea of how much the tariff will be until it’s almost here. So they don’t want to offer preorders at a price that they won’t be able to honor if it ends up costing them 2.5x more to import.

    How big was the Enterprise?

You left out needing to state to no one in particular "closet manned and ready" and "closet secured" at the beginning and end of each four hour shift.

    ketracel white

Yeah, it seems like the production switched ideas along the way. Starting with the idea that it was an addictive drug used to control the Jem'Hadar (maybe recalling the line from "Encounter at Farpoint" where humans in the 21st Century controlled their military with drugs), then evolving to...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

This is an odd thing that permeates all post TOS Trek. On TOS, Kirk was the only one who was shown to be extraordinary, as he had come come up through the ranks very rapidly. Maybe one could make an argument for Spock, but it is unclear if his intelligence was simply average for a Vulcan...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

That's because McCoy skipped Klingon anatomy class for Photon Torpedo Maintenance 101.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

My thoughts on several topics from the last few pages: Enterprise's speed in TOS: the original 6400c speed from the pitch document is much closer to what's observed in actual episodes (including everything past TOS) than any of the ridiculously slow speeds published in the technical manuals...

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I only watched the first couple of seasons of Stargate, so never saw this ship on the show. I was wondering why it was such an odd shape, but only now realized It was designed to fit through the Stargates, sorry for being slow, lol…

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Oooo… I may have to get that first resin kit, I’ve always liked that take on the Kelvinprise. Those other ones I’m not so sure of, I think the final result of mixing different design languages will look odd.

    Where is Galileo?

I could see that, Ticonderoga seems to want to have things in context. Instead of just having it randomly off to the side, I could see them wanting to make it accessible through a doorway with all of the hangar deck signage, etc., like it would have been in TOS.

    Anyone still build models?

    Crazy impressive, nice job!

    Season 3 First Look

In the old Trek fanzine, "Shore Leave" was voted as a top ten episode by the 1970s Trekkies, and it was obviously popular enough for it to be revisited in TAS.

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Accounting for inflation, the HIYA is almost twice what the AA/Diamond ones were (it's been a while, but i recall the ships were around $50 in 2005, which is almost $82 in 2025 dollars). The Nacelle and HIYA action figures, which are also pretty close to the old AA/ Diamond ones, have gone...

    Playmates Toys

Yeah, just seems like if they wanted to do an Animated figure, Arex and M'Ress haven't been done and would be better sellers than a goofy one-off character from one of the weaker episodes.

    Playmates Toys

Mostly the same, but I probably won't be able to resist any of the SNW guys. BEM is a weird choice. I may get him for the WTF factor, lol... Yeah, the original figures have kind of cartoons proportions, while the new ones are more realistic, which makes them look weirdly skinny next to the...

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I've been meaning to order that Nebuchadnezzar. In other starship model news... Looks like Hiya is stepping into the old Diamond Select light up ship/size class. https://www.hiyatoys.com/products/hiya-replicaart-series-non-scale-15-inch-star-trek-2009-uss-enterprise-ncc-1701-light-up-starship

Did the First Federation actually exist, or did Balok make it up?

Yes, that's what I meant. I feel like those types of races were way more common in TOS than the later productions, and gave TOS an underlying feeling of "here be dragons". Considering galactic timescales, our heroes should encounter just as many more advanced races as they do primitive ones...

Did the First Federation actually exist, or did Balok make it up?

To be fair, the later productions completely ignored almost all of the more advanced races from TOS - the only one that ever got revisited was a terrible version of the Organians in ENT. It’s sort of funny to call back to them, since they’re the ones that need to be forgotten since you can’t...

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

The MR one is to be 1:1 scale, I think the EM one is maybe 1:2. I guess for the diehard TOS fan the MR one is a little more desirable, but if you’re just collecting dedication plaques, you’d just stick with the EM version, since the dozen or so other plaques for other ships are also the smaller...

    Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Yeah, not really sure that will be a great seller because i'd think most of their customers would have the Eaglemoss one. I did order that ceramic mug version of the grey spray-painted styrofoam TOS coffee cup they announced last week, lol. I got my Eleos this week, it's a nifty little ship...

List of ships in each series?

I could see the forward section of Sternbach's Horizon landing. The Iotian's probably wouldn't realize that 80% of the ship remained in orbit.
