Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I'm a big fan of the Dallas series that ran from the late 70's to the early 90s. Many guests from TOS appeared on this series, some of them prominently--especially Morgan Woodward (Punk Anderson) and William Smithers (Jeremy Wendell). William Windom also appeared on Dallas in two episodes as...

    Captain Kirk Versus Captain Tracy

Ah, so that's what Kirk meant when he asked Spock, "have you got the AKC's installed in Engineering yet?"

    Rewatching Episodes: Obsession

That was his twin that died... Frank Leslie. The one who lived was Joe Leslie. A piece of trivia for your viewing pleasure: Joe's middle name was Tiberius, just like Kirk's.

Look at these lovely TOS guest stars!

It would have been great--and I'm sure, hilarious--if Windom had done commentary on TDM. A lost opportunity when they issued the show on DVD years ago.

    What Scene Drives You Crazy

One scene that always bothered me was Kirk and Spock's seemingly indifference to the fate of the Scalosians at the end of "Wink of An Eye." KIRK: What do you want us to do with you? DEELA: Don't make a game of it, Captain. We've lost. KIRK: If I sent you to Scalos, you'd undoubtedly play the...

Does "The Menagerie" still work now that we can watch "The Cage" by itself?

The Menagerie is the better watch for me. The original crew doesn't possess the same chemistry as Kirk et. al, and I find myself getting bored quickly when they're on the screen for too long.

    Season 1 title font

I wonder if the inability to settle on a single font for season one factored into the decision to adopt the familiar font seen in the second season onward.

    Spock YELLING

And he had a bit of a northeastern Vulcan accent, too.
