    765874 - Unification

Kudos to everyone involved for their hard work. I nearly went my entire life without seeing a guy in an unconvincing digital Kirk mask exchange emotional glances with a who's who of Memory Alpha entries.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10 - "Hegemony"

It was a point in "Arena" that the Gorn are incredibly strong but slow moving reptiles. It's like fist fighting an alligator... you can outrun it, but don't let it catch you. Both of those things are true.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10 - "Hegemony"

This is very much a "turn off your brain" episode.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x03 - "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow"

The Eugenics Wars were originally described as the last of the World Wars and involved selective breeding. 20th/21st century Star Trek canon has been inconsistent and contradictory since TOS. I dig that we now know why.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x03 - "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow"

There's no way JTK of any universe would make the lady sleep on the couch while he takes the bed.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x03 - "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow"

This episode was like eating a hotdog with nothing on it- it was fine. I rather like the idea of using the temporal wars as an excuse to rewrite Star Trek's history to suit the story.

Spoilers The reason for the refit of the Titan

I rather like the idea of an underdog Enterprise. She's a little exploratory ship that earned the most prestigious name in the fleet.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x10 - "A Quality of Mercy"

Star Trek: Picard also doesn't look like the alternate futures seen in "All Good Things," "The Visitor," or "Endgame." If you want to pretend TOS always looked like SNW, that's fine. If you want to pretend TOS looks different due to changes in the timeline, that's fine. If you want to pretend...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x10 - "A Quality of Mercy"

Kirk's response to Pike hesitating to fire was a nice touch, given his history at Tycho IV.

Paul Wesley was okay- fourth best Kirk behind Shatner, Pine, and Smith.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x10 - "A Quality of Mercy"

Fun enough. Was there any acknowledgement to Paul Schneider in the credits?

By "hitting them over the head with the message" you mean including actual LGBT people, right?

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x09 - "All Those Who Wander"

That's pretty good. I wish one of the characters had said it.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x09 - "All Those Who Wander"

Absolutely. How many people did the Horta kill? How about the Salt Vampire? Star Trek can have monsters, and our heroes can kill those monsters if they need to... but IMO Star Trek is at its best when there is some measure of reflection or remorse or an attempt at understanding along the way...

Where are the Gorn in other Star Trek series?

Technically, Kirk did fight the Gorn on Cestus III. The fight on Cestus III might've been of more interest to Sisko than the subsequent mano a mano fight because Kasidy's brother lived there.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x09 - "All Those Who Wander"

This Spock is interesting to watch, but not because he kills without remorse. The Horta was a mobile vat of acid that targeted humans, leaving only bits of bone and teeth remaining. It was not known to use language or operate space craft. The Gorn have been clearly established as an advanced...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x09 - "All Those Who Wander"

The horta was more dangerous and they had less reason to believe it was an intelligent species, and yet...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x09 - "All Those Who Wander"

There was time enough to say something along the lines of, "I see no alternative myself, Captain. It merely seems a pity."

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1x09 - "All Those Who Wander"

It would've been nice to have had some acknowledgment that they were essentially killing children from a sentient, space faring civilization.
