I found out later on about Sky purchasing the rights but at the time I wrote a protest letter to the BBC and the response I got back stated that it was their decision to stop showing it. Saving face I suppose. It was a bad thing if you didn't have Sky. LOL.
One of my favourite eps from this season is Night Terrors, minus most of the Troi scenes. The scene with Dr Crusher in the cargo bay with the corpses sitting up around her was great. I thought the music track also wasn't as bland as the standard stuff being used in most eps at the time.
I...
Season 2 trailer available again on youtube.
Sorry, but I had to remove the link, CBS is squawking about it.
(Geez, my first act as TNG mod is to spoil someone's effort.)
Uploaded the samples to Yoututbe in case anyone wants a look.
Sins of the Father : http://youtu.be/G_fSdx5XxLo
The Inner Light : http://youtu.be/4pFbFDDc-r0
They don't look quite as good after upload as they did when the .mkv was played through VLC. Might just be my imagination.
Haven't got my disc yet unfortunately.
There are samples from Sins of the Father and Inner Light online but with german audio. I ran them side by side with the SD version and the difference in detail and colour is brilliant.:techman:
Hope my disc comes tomorrow.
Re: Star Trek: Voyager: Children Of The Storm Review Thread
Just did a search in the kindle store and right enough it's there. Odd that there is no link to the kindle page from the paperback page like there usually is. On pre-order now. Woohoo.:bolian:
Re: Star Trek: Voyager: Children Of The Storm Review Thread
21st July for UK dead tree version. No kindle release date as yet!. Booo!.:scream:
Thanks for reviews. I'm very jealous!
Re: Star Trek: DTI: Watching The Clock Review Thread
Just finished it. Fantastic book. Mind still boggling a bit. I'm usually pretty good at navigating the theoretical science but this one had me a little tied up. I think I got the gist of it though. I'm sure I'll get the rest of it on my...
Thanks for sharing the interview link. I haven't listened to it yet but will tonight. I'm looking forward to this one. I usually like your books.
I was glad too see that on UK Amazon the Kindle edition (26th April £3.99) is, for once, a bit cheaper than the paper edition( 23rd June £5.24). Mad...
I finished it yesterday. Took me a bit longer to get through than your average trek book as it did start a bit slow. I also sometimes have a bit of trouble wading through anything that has a we'd-rather-die-than-contaminate-our-cultural-identity vibe or religious overtones. I find it ludicrous...
Re: Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts Of Empire review thread
I too found the Sisko storyline a little out of kilter with the character I know. Not a criticism as such just not what I had expected. The refrences to events occuring during the DS9 gap were a little frustrating especially with the cameo...
Re: Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts Of Empire review thread
Amazon.co.uk has the Kindle edition date as 28/12/10 which is earlier than previously stated. The paperback edition has a 03/02/11 release date.
I'll be attempting to get the Kindle edition on Tuesday so I suppose I'd better get Unspoken...
I emailed amazon about this. In the search results it says available for download but when you go to the product page it says not available.
I got a generic reply that did not give a reason for it not being released and no indication when it would be. I was advised to check the...
I guess I got really lucky then. I downloaded a tools pack that had everything I needed in it. KindleForPC now has a GUI interface as well which simplifies things a lot.:techman:
Amazon DRM is pathetically easy to remove. I won't detail how but a google search will turn up what you need.
I'm glad amazon have starting selling new books as ebooks here in the UK and provided a free kindle for PC app. I bought my first ebook from them at the weekend, Peter F Hamilton's...
I just hope that with the advent of the ibooks store that the problems with ebook rights internationally get's sorted out so that those of us outside the US can buy the latest books as ebooks when they are released. I'm not an apple fan but if ibooks makes this happen I'll be happy. I do agree...
I don't know if this will be of any use to anyone but on the e-book front I find it useful to read them using my mobile phone. I have a samsung omnia and use word mobile to read the books in text format. I have a fairly complete collection of star trek books on PDF and convert them to text...
