What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I think ships gendered as female is in at least all English-speaking countries. "Very expensive to keep in paint and powder."

    General Trek Questions and Observations

Nobody was forcing Tolkien to write fiction at all, he could have lived on just teaching and scholarly work. But LOTR is much better for the languages. They were Tolkien's gateway to the cultural background of his stories.

    General Trek Questions and Observations

I trust Major Kira's advice on a good field weapon for a beginner: Cardassian Phase-Disruptor Rifle. "Solid and simple. You can drag it through the mud and it will still fire." (Return to Grace)

    General Trek Questions and Observations

There wasn't, and there should not be. Commas are not used when the number is a year.

    General Trek Questions and Observations

Me, probably the lirpa. I'm not particularly strong and not skilled in blade fighting, so maybe a short distance weapon would give me a little bit of a chance.

    General Trek Questions and Observations

Love Fahrenheit, but Bradbury didn't have to create several new languages.

Best and Worst Treatment of Ethical Dilemmas

Also because the Cardassians chose to be on Bajor. But it is still a debatable ethical point.

Best and Worst Treatment of Ethical Dilemmas

I don't agree. There are rules for the conduct of war, beyond not starting one. Not targeting civilians or medical units, taking enemies who have surrendered as prisoners, treating prisoners humanely.

Why did the Federation tolerate some elements of Vulcan culture that actually may cause great harm to individuals?

I don't think that's the case. TOS had Spock in Starfleet, and USS Intrepid crewed entirely by Vulcans referenced. Clearly in Babel Federation members did have their own military organizations, but Starfleet was also shared between all the Federation members.

Why did the Federation tolerate some elements of Vulcan culture that actually may cause great harm to individuals?

Allies is very different from being Federation members! You can be allies with a country that you have common strategic interests with even if you don't approve of everything they do. As far as Vulcan, some marriages are arranged, but are they seem to be arranged with the consent of the people...

Favorite ALL time episode REGARDLESS of the series?

"Far Beyond the Stars" Many great episodes, but it stands out.

When exactly did Jadzia Dax reject Julian Bashir (since her first words to him here definitely not rejection)? Also, first interaction between Bashir

Not the writers. Berman and Farrell unable to come to an agreement. I don't see anything wrong with bringing in Dax in a new host. Since they already told how trills work, it's the logical way to handle Jadzia being off the show. This is the opportunity to show as well as tell. And it's not...

When exactly did Jadzia Dax reject Julian Bashir (since her first words to him here definitely not rejection)? Also, first interaction between Bashir

In that particular part of her life, she was way too confused herself to tell a coherent lie with a straight face. However, she might also have been misremembering what her feelings were. Jadzia seems to be a bit indecisive regarding Julian back in season 1 anyway, and confused Ezri might have...

William Shatner Confirms Talks for Star Trek Return at 93 Years Old

Sure they do, if the damage to their reputation would be more than the money is worth. (Take William Shatner, for example. No more starving 1960s actor living on fruit salad, so he can walk away from acting in a nonstarring role.)

Minutia is the names that were only said once on screen.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

So if there was a particular body type he was looking for (even bustier than Farrell? Really?) he didn't tell his casting director to get someone like that? I have no involvment with casting, but I would have expected that if the boss wasn't there in person at the auditions he'd at least look...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

It could be interesting, but it wouldn't be Star Trek. It would be about whatever the heck Gary Seven's people were called.
