I noticed that the Modiphius miniatures are overall not available, either directly from Modiphius or other online sellers. As it looks like they're rpg books are still available it seems strange that the miniatures are becoming scarce.
Anybody know anything about this?
The non canon novels really did some interesting development with the Andorians, exploring their four genders and their complicated reproduction cycle that was contributing to their eminent extinction, as well as their arranged marriages, which seems progressive on the surface with four people...
Kes is an alien. If the show says she's a full grown adult by two and expected to die when she's nine, that is how her species works. It's likely that the Caretaker meddled with their evolution, possibly shortening their lifespan and limiting their fertility to make the species more manageable...
I do like the Doctor's crush on Kes. It's sweet, even wholesome, and she was for awhile the only person who treated him as a real person. I never wanted her to reciprocate though.
They were good episodes, Spock brought gravitas to the story, and it opened up development for the Romulans that I don't feel like has ever satisfactorily paid off.
Side note, we hear that Picard was at Sarek's son's wedding. The novels marry him off to Saavik, which I always found kind of...
At least they weren't born in the "main" universe.
I always thought Kes must have had some feelings about that. A child she gave birth to, a daughter and grandson she got to know would never exist in her universe. Of course the show never was going to bring it up again, not with the episodic...
Right, I know that of course. We do get that one episode where we see them as a married couple, and they seem happy together. It always made me sad that their daughter and grandson were wiped out of existence.
It would definitely have taken time to develop.
I imagine Seven would've resisted getting close to Kes as she did everyone. I could see her having blunt conversations with Kes about her short life which would have Kes explaining how that just made her more determined to make the most of her...
I was so fed up with Will keeping Troi close, but not too close, I really wanted Troi to get with Tom when he came around. Tom around long term with Will also there could've been interesting to see them continue their uncomfortable dynamic with each other as well.
And it would've saved us from...
In order to keep to the spirit of things, Enterprise would need to suffer heavy casualties.
Riker, Crusher, Ogawa, Troi and Geordie dead, and whoever their immediate replacements would be, to allow for the Marquis replacements.
Kes I can see filling in for Troi as a psychic advisor instead of...
I knew that Kira was created because Forbes declined being on DS9, but I had no idea she turned down Voyager too.
I would've gladly replaced Chakotay with her, but I can see where she had more in common with Torres personality wise.
I think Kes and Tom would've made a good couple.
Kes and Seven could've at least made a better couple than Chakotay and Seven. .
I have long had this idea of an alternate universe where Neelix was replaced from the beginning with a hot young Kazon. Someone who at least looks closer to Kes's...
I think the trick with that is you need enough LGBT representation so that no one character is seen to carry the whole community on their shoulders. I think we're getting there.
