I recently learned that the Galaxy Quest Blu-Ray had a feature called the Galactapedia that helped filled out the lore of TV series. Notably, in relation to Star Trek, it was written by Michael & Denise Okuda.
I do not have the Blu-Ray so I have never seen the Galactapedia, so does anyone know...
I just heard about this a few minutes ago. I think his best Star Trek performance was adult Jake Sisko in "The VIsitor". https://variety.com/2024/film/obituaries-people-news/tony-todd-dead-candyman-final-destination-kurn-star-trek-1236205445/
James Darren (Vic Fontaine) has passed away today at 88. I actually heard about it before it was publicly announced as a Facebook friend of mine knew him; still I wanted to wait until there was a public announcement to avoid rumor-mongering. Rest in peace, Vic...
I signed up for CBS All Access just to watch Discovery. I bailed halfway through Season One. Burnham was not an interesting or compelling character (despite the narrative's repeated insistence), the war story was dull, and Jason Isaacs was utterly wasted as Lorca. Plus, going to the Mirror...
I like the A-plot enough that it could stand as a single-story episode. What is Sisko willing to pour out to a Starfleet psychologist? It would make an interesting contrast to "In The Pale Moonlight".
Brazil has been home to a sizable Japanese population since the late 19th century. Having Hoshi be Japanese Brazilian is something they absolutely could've done.
I just bought A Stitch in Time from Apple iBooks. I highly recommend it, and I speak as someone who doesn't typically enjoy Trek books. No spoilers, but I like the fact that Garak's life isn't necessarily happily ever after, but optimistic nonetheless.
I'll watch any episode if it seems interesting even if it's not on the list. Everything I've ever heard about Far Beyond the Stars says it's must-watch.
To stress how the list has motivated me to keep watching, when I started following it, I had left off (for a couple of years!) at "Crossover". Since I started using it, I am now as far as "Indiscretion".
I'd like to stress the point that the list does not generally concerned with quality, although some notoriously bad episodes are skipped (Move Along Home, Profit and Lace). Since the list is largely built around themes, are there any episodes that are omitted that I should watch? For example...
I'm sorry, but I've always found the Mirror Universe to be a very hokey concept.
I see the list as a guide rather than a series of hard-and-fast rules. I like it because it's motivated me to keep watching while also giving me the key points, but with the built-in freedom to watch anything that...
