My opinion on the big reveal?
It’s a cover. It’s actually a clone of Jack Crusher, and Picard knows this, and pretends it’s his son because he wants to protect his “old Friend” after not being able to on the Stargazer. He felt he owed it to both Jack and Beverly. And Riker recognizes Jack as...
Maybe I missed something, but isn’t the whole discussion on the detached nacelles and how they are configured moot since none of the 32nd Century ships are warp capable?
I feel TDK trilogy are elite films, and elevate beyond the “comic book movie” form.
The first two films are outstanding, especially The Dark Knight, but Rises is in my opinion Nolan’s sloppiest film. Not just of the trilogy, but of his entire career. There is shoddy story work, bad special...
McCoy like knew from “Remember” to the Fal Tor Pan, then nothing.
In TFF, he didn’t know Spock had a brother. If he retained Spock’s memories he would have instantly recognized Sybok.
For me it’s about the flow of the design. The angled pylons work very well with the angle of the neck, balancing the look.
But I like what you did. It’s straight yet still angled. It’s a nice compromise.
But just the straight spindly pylons from the original? It’s the only element of the...
Here’s a unpopular opinion:
I never liked the straight pylons of the TOS E. The angled pylons give the design a better visual flow, on both the refit and the Discoprise.
I’ve seen all of TOS, many many times.
All of TAS.
All of TNG.
Most of DS9, particularly the war arch. That’s due to a recent binge. I watched the first 2 seasons first run and I lost interest.
Some of VOY but not much. I loved the concept but it never really lived up to it. I just seemed liked...
Seriously, who voted 1? I mean, really? A 1? I can see not liking it, and it not being your thing, but a 1? Seriously that’s pathetic. Shitting on a show others like doesn’t give your life more meaning.
My son is 10 and LOOOOVES Star Trek and he would never play with Trek toys. Action figures aren’t anywhere near as popular as they once were. It’s a big reason why Toys R Us is gone.
Ozymandias from Breaking Bad is definitely a 10.
I have this one a 9. For me there’s a big difference between 9 and 10.
I loved the surprise reveal, though I strongly began to doubt Burnham was RA when Spock mentioned how illogical it was.
There was a lot of expository dialogue and scenes of...
I see a troll cast a 1 vote. I suppose that was inevitable.
Seriously if you are honestly voting 1, what exactly do you want out of any Star Trek? Why are you watching at all?
It’s a visual reboot. The story events in the prime universe happen as they happened. It looks different, because it’s a.....
Visual Reboot.
This is not a profound observation. I look at it like that and the differences resolve themselves because...
It looks right either way. I don’t let the...
What I might expect is that the mycelial network locks everyone out, and therefore NO ONE can use any spore technology. Some threads in this season so far seem to me to be moving in that direction.
I can’t see it being a rule put in place or something like that. That would be ridiculous.
Wolf in the Fold:
Jack the Ripper is a space entity that feeds on fear, frames Scotty for murder on a peaceful planet, has Piglets voice and the episode ends with the whole crew high.
