All Our Yesterdays (TOS) on MeTV, Saturday night. I don't really watch episodes elsewhere. Instead, I look forward to each weekly Star Trek like when I was a kid.

It was definitely Chekov. I this movie, he is the womanizer and Kirk is older and wiser...so to speak. I noticed this, as well. At that point, Kirk is wistful of what might have been.

Actually most of us are "straight-acting". It's just that the "out & loud" ones get public attention.

I voted for the TOS, especially Beyond uniforms. The new uni is flexible... and appropriate for diplomatic mission. The TNG similarity fits with that type of mission. It looks very good in both outdoor and indoor lighting. After watching Adam Savage's video, I believe they have finally created...

I am enjoying this thread. I watched the movie twice, caught only a few of the many references listed here. IMO, the Easter eggs added to STB's TOS feel.

I've seen this movie twice now. Somehow, I don't think we watched the same film, my friend. Each of the items you complain about is clearly shown. As a combat veteran, I understood clearly the message without a Picard-like sermon. Much of the beginning is similar to Kirk questioning whether...

An important part of STB is Kirk's age compared to his father.

Much ado about nothing. I would have liked more, but after waiting since 1974 to see someone like me in Star Trek, I am happy about it. Hopefully, we will see a little more in the next film.

Scores aside, as I prefer word of mouth, I predict that a return to "the final frontier and Justin Lin directing STB will garner a larger box office return than STID.

Star Trek: The Animated Series was my first introduction to Star Trek. Our local station, in Dayton, Ohio, was concurrently running syndicated episodes of TOS. For me, there was no difference between the two series. To this day, they are my favorite ST series.

If it made money, then obviously, many liked it. They paid to see it, often more than once. :bolian:
