When Decker tells Kirk that their hand is pretty weak, I've always thought that the look Decker gives Kirk there is a look of deference to Kirk- as if Decker is silently acknowledging that he wouldn't have gotten them that far.
They are both bad, but Insurrection is worse. Partly because it could have been a great film, but ends up a clunker. Nemesis has lots of problems, too. But, IMHO, features the best large-ship battle of any Trek film.
I agree with this. I've seen 6-ep shows that felt longer and more padded. The War Games is truly EPIC. I'd love to see the original version remastered and colorized.
I'm really finding it fascinating to see how future generations are interpreting BTTF. I'm Marty McFly's age and I can guarantee that neither myself nor any of my contemporaries equated the word "tragedy" with this film when it came out. It was pretty universally adored.
It's too bad this didn't do well. I actually enjoyed it, and I usually don't like kid-centric stuff. Prodigy is the only Trek series I haven't watched in it's entirety because I found it way too juvenile. SC had a much better balance of kiddie thrills and adult mystery. I also thought it was...
DS9 proved that they are a necessary evil in order to have a utopian society. Because not EVERYONE is going to go along with utopia. So, who deals with them? And what if they are so unreasonable that diplomacy or Starfleet can't deal with them. We will always be saddled with the sad reality...
Good Lord- that was terrible. I feared it would be a sci-fi action film with Star Trek taped on it, but having little to do with anything Trek. I was hoping to be surprised. I wasn't.
Really liked Series 1 of the 60s show- the rest is meh. Really liked the 98 film, sad there wasn't more. Really liked the Netflix show until I found out that they were cutting it short- made it really hard to get into Series 3 knowing they would be rushing to wrap up. The Robinsons pilot- meh.
I've been a big fan for decades but haven't bought physical media in years so, no. That said, I wouldn't mind if Peacock gave the show a digital clean-up and remix and clipped it a little more widescreen.
I cringe whenever I hear this badly-written line. The Praetor's power has always been with the TAL-SHIAR. Not the fleet. We've seen Tal Shiar people boss around ship captains before. The Tal Shiar has all the secrets. This was all clearly established during TNGs run. John Logan didn't do all his...
Even though it's a different timeline, the KT really IS a part of the PT in a way- Old Mr Spock is the PT Mr Spock. Nero and his crew were PT people who ended up in the KT. Various people throughout the PT are aware of the existence of the KT. Heck, someone from the KT even came over to the PT...
