Ready Room with Wil Wheaton Prodigy Edition

Honestly, YES. Peter David's Starfleet Academy trilogy featuring Worf and Zak Kebron was my introduction to Trek novels at a young age, and I fell in love with New Frontier as well. The Brikar being canon now is making 8 year old J47 scream with joy.

Spoilers Star Trek: Prodigy 1x01/02 - "Lost and Found"

I enjoyed it. It's visually gorgeous, and it seemed pretty much in line with Clone Wars when it comes to striking a balance between made for kids but enjoyable for adults. Murf made me smile way more than he should have considering I'm a grown man. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

Spoilers Star Trek: Lower Decks 2x10 - "First First Contact"

GREAT episode, with a solid cliffhanger. - Cetacean Ops *finally* making it to screen put a smile on my face, and the dolphins had me screaming. - Billups losing his cool when it was implied the Cerritos wasn't the best ship in the fleet had me rolling - The reason for Rutherford's error...

Spoilers Star Trek: Lower Decks 2x08 - "I, Excretus"

It's probably recency bias, but this feels like my favourite episode of the series so far. The training simulations were a great way to do call backs, and I love that they used a mix of bigger and smaller episodes (if you had given me the basic plot of this episode and told me to brainstorm, I...

    "Starfleet Academy" - The Show

The YA Starfleet Academy books were my jam when I was growing up, so I'm so happy this looks like it's going to be a reality.

Spoilers Star Trek: Prodigy and the Novels

Today I learned that Space Cases, one of my favourite shows as a child, was created by the guy behind New Frontier and the original Will Robinson.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Best and the Brightest by Susan Wright

As a young gay boy, I remember absolutely loving this book as it was the first time I felt myself truly represented in Trek. It was the late 90s, and at that point I was basically limited to Dawson's Creek and Will & Grace, and seeing a gay relationship portrayed as completely normal in my...

News Strange New Worlds casting/new characters

I'd probably be okay with Kirk appearing on the show, all things consider, but this casting seems...off to me.

Spoilers Star Trek: Discovery 3x01 - "That Hope Is You, Part 1"

The scene between Sahil and Burnham was the truest tribute to the optimistic spirit of Trek we've seen in the Kurtzman era. I've loved Discovery and its gritty approach to storytelling since the very beginning, but man was it nice to see that pop back up, and I wouldn't hate if this season...

Spoilers Star Trek: Lower Decks 1x10 - "No Small Parts"

I'm kind of hoping they do a running gag of killing off the security chief at the end of every season, only to replace him with a new security chief played by Fred Tatasciore the next season.

Spoilers Star Trek: Lower Decks 1x10 - "No Small Parts"

Well that was an absolutely fantastic finale. - Love that they didn't drag out Boimler knowing Mariner's secret. - Return of the Archons and the Pakleds! - Wolf 359 was an inside job! - Rutherford's different modes had me laughing out loud, curious to see where they're going to take him in...

Spoilers Star Trek: Lower Decks 1x09 - "Crisis Point"

I died at the TMP-style extended beauty shots of the Cerritos.

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 1x03 - "The End is the Beginning"

That ending put the hugest smile on my face. The combination of "Engage" and the sweeping TNG music was absolute perfection.

New *Animated* Short Trek: Ephraim & Dot

Ephraim and Dot was beyond cute.

    New Short Trek: Ask Not

It was good, but pretty clearly my least favourite of the three this season so far. I think the other two had me wanting more fun romps, emphasis on fun, and "Ask Not" was not that, unfortunately.

New Short Trek: The Trouble With Edward

This was so, so, so, so much fun. I'm not sure I've ever wanted a tribble origin story, but now I'm so glad we got one.

    First Picard Show pic!

The TOS font is an odd choice, but I love the Picard font. That said if they're really going with "Picard," I'd kind of prefer they just drop "Star Trek" from the name entirely. It flows weirdly, and like "Enterprise," Picard is easily recognizable as Trek without the ST part.

Spoilers Star Trek: Discovery 2x05 - "Saints of Imperfection"

I have to believe the writers know that Section 31 isn't supposed to be this visible, and that instead they're building up to something, perhaps something so terrible, that forces the organization to go underground and erase all record of their existence .

Spoilers Star Trek: Short Treks 1x04 - "The Escape Artist"

That was fantastic & fun - I'm definitely looking forward to McMahan's Lower Decks series now, and just placed an order for Warped.
