You kept asking if the uniforms were from the Kelvin universe, several people have said no. The Hobus event created the Kelvin universe, but branched from there.
Prime (our) Spock would simply have seemed to have given his life to save everyone from Picard's point of view. It'll be mentioned...
They're the Star Trek Online uniforms, which is set just after 2400. The series starts in 2399, we've seen All Good Things commbadges and now early versions of the games uniform design, it has nothing to do with the Kelvin universe.
It's a follow up to TNG, with references to the Hobus event from the Prime universe side, and the Starfleet logo on some of the shots looks like they're subtley adding DSC details to things. There's no connection to the Kelvin universe.
In a move franchise specifically about folding new members into the existing group to grow stronger no matter who or what they are. I guess some people missed the whole point of this series.
Discovery must become a galactic boombox, both jumping and blaring music across the entire galaxy to take down the evil Federation in *that sequence* from Beyond made an entire season.
The saucer section is almost exactly the same size as the 1701's, just more machinary but enough room to move around E deck without meeting a lot of the crew during duty hours.
To be fair, at this point all the replies are overthinking this far more than I was to start with. Howard found a lump of metal, melted it into a frisbee, noticed it stopped the odd bullet and shoved it on a shelf. Nothing about the shield seemed to have people that impressed at all by it.
And yet, all it did was take out their own flagship, nearly allow 73 genocidal superbeings into the universe in control of it and crash into one of the most densely populated cities on Earth in the middle of the working day. Zero Klingons, thouands of humans.
Bit of a flaw there. Oh yeah, and...
I mean my initial point is that it should just be shown as heavier than it is, wasn't saying it should be taking Caps arm off. :p
And yes the Stones are the major ridiculous part of it all, I really wanted the Eternals to arrive and clear something up about them, maybe they still will someday.
It would have to be a largely empty d or f field lattice system, but against Mjolnir, the more space there is to compress, the more I'd expect matter compressed by stellar collapse to shatter it.
