It's not that difficult to understand. Appeal to the broadest possible audience to entertain as many as possible. For every "Let that Be Your Last Battlefield" there's an "Omega Glory." "For every Who Watches the Watcher's" there's the wonderful "Symbiosis" with its drug use PSA.

Trek is a big IP. Political or not, Paramount will want it on their platform.
And it's been political since 1966. The ratings aren't really about how an episode or series tackles a current day issue in a future setting.
The question is really if it's political enough to impact ratings negatively. That's all that really matters these days. Pretty sure the network is going to want to maximize subs.
Yet another one that the Weinsteins "meddled with" (to put it mildly), when they made Wes Craven throw out 90% of what he had filmed for Cursed and start over with a new script and partially new cast. And even after that, they went back on their agreement for the film to be rated R, and had it...
...it has not been. I did a bit of digging on the oriville and all of nutrek. About all of nuttrek except for season 5 has a more positive ratings in their orginal trailers. Serson 5 is the only excemption where it got a more negative responce.
SFA breaks that mold with a large amount of...
...have exuded.
Serendipity (not always related to "plot armor") is a possibility as well, though The Rock's inclusion was a sappy sweeps weeks ratings grab for a story that could have been a lot better than "American Gladiators Shoehorned In Space" (for which the acronym is "A.S.S.", go...
I apologise. It seems I have created great DISCOURSE from saying shut up.
I mean it's such a light term. It's silly. It's innocuous. Picard shouted "shut up Wesley" on regular occasion and no harm was felt on a universal-rated show. But here... well. Its's now 12R or maybe a 15.
We can allow...
Actually I'd say most Legacy fans would have been happy with Captain Seven of Nine and the occasional TNG or DS9 actor guest appearance.
You know, like Lower Decks did. :rommie:
What exactly did we see about Torpedoes of that time period that made the idea of the photonic detonations energy...
...original TNG cast member character walk onto the scene somewhere in nearly every episode.
Once viewers saw that would not be the case. the ratings would tank. (And hell, SNW's streaming ratings were overall better than PIC S3 - and the sets needed are still up in Paramount's Canadian studio...
I mean, I find Section 31 just groaningly awful. But I watched it before I posted my opinion on the movie and didn't go by the people who'd streamed it before I did. It's entirely possible I could have given it a warmer rating and kinder words, but I reserved final judgment until I clicked on...
...areas like RT and IMDB. It kept a consistent amount of engagement until season 3 and it dropped off like a rock, especially season 5. The ratings never beat out strange new worlds and had consistent droping through season 4. Season 5 saw a small increase. On RT when season 3 hit people just...
I was so excited when the DF started DS9. But I agree, when you compare to some other podcasts there’s little love or insight there. I love Terry but she barely seems to remember anything about the show and Armin’s occasional insights are buried amid the anal retentive nitpicking. And I’m sorry...
TNG was popular enough to get its own series of big budget motion pictures. So Berman made it. The best kurtzman has gotten was a crappy section 31 made for streaming movie. That one stunk up the place worse than any trek movie in the history of trek movies. Im counting TFF as well. Section 31...
Yes, I can.
The writing of the Berman era was inconsistent at best. It forgot details in next episodes sometimes. Even vaunted series like TNG are considered mix between seasons 2 and 2 and 6 and 7. Ratings wide, the era saw decreasing viewership.
It's mixed at best.

If this is Khan's son it implies that either he had a child with a different woman or that McGivers met her end rather recently.
Welcome. And sounds good to me.
Right? When I was a teenager I took it in stride as "Oh, we've moved past...
Unfortunately, in the streaming era, we have no good source for metrics. Rating sites can be review bombed, and viewing stats are hard to find (and often quite dodgy).
