...your posts. Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes (like the Dominion Occupation Arc on DS9 or the Xindi Arc on ENT), each episode is a separate thread. Get ready for a story, here...

    Why Didn't Harry Get Promoted?

...at all, it is likely lower for that position than we would expect to see. But the situation of a potential threat to Earth security by the Dominion needed the head of it to be VERY familiar with the Dominion... and as Leyton pointed out, no one in Starfleet was more familiar with the...

...be produced on a modest(ish) budget as contained, high-concept stories. You could even do something like The Siege of AR-558, set during the Dominion war and one ship/crew/character on a specific mission/story and do something very different within the universe without over-linking it to DS9...

    See you in court

...For the simple reason being not everyone is rational or able to compromise. Otherwise, the Federation wouldn't have had... Talaraian War Cardassian War At least 2 Tzenkethi Wars Multiple Klingon Wars Dominion War Other wars It sucks, but sometimes something like Section 31 IS necessary.

    A serious question...

The Xindi Arc was too much filler and not enough killer. I liked the idea, but it was poorly executed. Too much wandering around instead of getting on with the mission.

    A serious question...

...are perceived as "butt-monkeys" among those who actually buy the novels. Personally, I liked VOY (especially when DS9 got mired in the Dominion War arc, and started delving too deeply into Bajoran mysticism), and I liked ENT (except for the whole season that got mired in the Xindi War arc)...

Design a more rational TNG fleet

The Dominion has basically two starship types. The attack ship and the cruiser. Late in the war they build a battleship type, but for most of the war it is two Jem'hadar ships plus Cardassian cruisers and light ships. Four types between the two for the majority on the engagements. Starfleet...

Your honest opinion on the Berman era

Gene was only the showrunner for the first half of TNG's first season. From there, it was Maurice Hurley's show through the end of season 2.

...is unrealistic, something that technology like the replicator calls into question. Heck, the legendary "Oh, you weren't able to handle this" Dominion always felt like it could plausibly have been dealt with if Bashir's effort to replicate Goran'Agar's lack of ketracel-white dependancy into a...

Your honest opinion on the Berman era

...of episodes from each series I enjoyed, each of the latter three series kinda ruined the lore, introducing concepts such as Section 31, The Dominion War, Species 8472 and the Xindi War, all of which were at best the antithesis of good Star Trek, and at worst, just plain stupid. That is not...

Your honest opinion on the Berman era

Y’know, I’m probably more forgiving than you of DS9/Dominion War and maybe late era TNG (ENT never landed for me for reasons not always about the show itself) but this is the first time I’ve seen an overall opinion I find myself very much agreeing with. Especially that thought about missing the...

They ought to be treated as the sort of ship that turns up at major engagements such as Dominion War battles & Borg encounters and the center and pride of the fleet, available only in limited numbers. If you are interested, I think its the episode of T7R with both Behr and Wolfe, where they are talking about the origins of the Dominion. Behr talks about how PIller cut vacations short so that the writers could work on his Circle idea, and Wolfe interjects that it was awkward to do when the...
