    Babylon 5

"Learning Curve"... it was an interesting glimpse into how Rangers are trained. Terror is a weapon that Minbari are not afraid to wield, and by extension they learn how to face it well. I agree, though, that it felt a bit out of place. "The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father"... always...

Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

The problem stems mostly from the fact that Disney wants something to show off at their investors meetings, so they put pressure on Lucasfilm or Marvel to announce new projects which aren't ready for the public to know about. When Lucasfilm realizes these projects are doomed, they wisely abandon...

    Babylon 5

Yeah, there were a few episodes like that didn't really fit in as well with the others. I was guessing some was due to setting up season 4 as a possible finale if they didn't get season 5, and then not having as many ideas when they did get it. They definitely did seem to be setting up things...

    Babylon 5

...felt very strange to be right up against the end of the series—since the first had little to do with the main story, and the second was obviously setting up the Telepath War or something leading into it that would be elaborated on in Crusade (but then mostly wasn’t, because of the cancellation).

Taylor Sheridan Leaving Paramount For NBC

It's going to go on into eternity. SVU has been on for SO long, the original L&O was cancelled and rebooted during SVU's run!

There's a lot more than that to being a producer. What damage has it done? As far as I can tell Star Wars is still doing fine. I'd say it casts a negative light on the director/directors, since they're typically the ones who are at fault. There's still plenty of the directors styles in the...

...of meetings in Hollywood and that not every project gets a green light, and who doesn't know how major Hollywood companies operate, the cancellation of announced projects and the firing of directors during filming casts a negative image of Lucas Film. Furthermore, as a casual viewer who isn't...

You do? Have you worked in Hollywood? Cancelling a project is going to do a lot less damage to the company than fully project a disaster. It's better to fire a director than either leave in a director who is difficult to work with or who has not been delivering a project. Big studio franchise...

I'm with Rich Evans. ST:TMP is the best Star Trek movie. Here's my brief review.

I first have to preface my review with a little background on the time, as I remember seeing this film in theaters. I had always had a soft spot for The Motion Picture, flawed as it was upon release. Then the Director's Cut came out on DVD in 2001 and I loved how it restored so much footage...

    News? Stories from Dubious Sources

FF's budget was $200 million. It did $521 million at the box office. It barely broke even. It underperformed. They cancelled three MCU films that were due to be released in 2026-2027 earlier this year. Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) was the last MCU film to gross over $1 billion.

If the new management decides to get hands-on, or if ratings are bad, this is a possibility. I'd be happier if the show turns out to be both good and successful, but we'll have to wait and see. They will not do that Archer series. I can't imagine the people currently running Trek will want to...

Some believe the MCU's current state of decline is a result of them stubbornly sticking to projects they announced that they really should have walked away from.

Well, I guess it's progress that you're at least accepting Academy S2 is happening, as you had previously been saying it would get cancelled after the first season despite the second being in production. The President Archer series isn't going to happen. Nor will another Kelvin movie. And if...

No, it definitely doesn't seem that way. On the contrary, I think he seems to be making ridiculous decisions. Even Marvel, with one or two exceptions, hasn't canceled any of the announced projects. So far, no director has been fired during filming because they disagreed after filming began.

Look, I understand what it's like to be an executive in Hollywood. But I can't say it looks good from the outside when a project that's already been announced is canceled, or directors are fired during filming, and directors aren't given any freedom.

    News? Stories from Dubious Sources

I think the most likely scenario is Academy is cancelled after season 2 and then they do that Federation President Archer series. Then we will get one more final Kelvinverse movie. By then Matalas will be all the rage over his super successful Vision series and they will beg him to come back...
