The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

...even Garrett toned down his usual tone-deaf humor. While it didn't make me want to revisit "The Muse" - all of them give it extremely low ratings, of course, I really enjoyed the episode more than I've enjoyed the show in a while. Perhaps because the episode was so bad there was so much to...

    Re-Watching DS9

----- Typed up Last Night ----- My food of choice to watch these episodes with is Jalapeno Pizza. I added the jalapenos myself. I looked for the hottest ones I could find. I bought margarita mix as well. I wish I could have it with a drink, but I ran out of time to go to the liquor store...

The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

For all its flaws, TND is more relevant now than it was almost 30 years ago. The idea of a media mogul using a literal war to achieve world ratings domination isn't so far-fetched anymore. At the time, Rupert Murdoch was mostly known for newspapers, and Fox News was still brand-new. More...

What are the Trekbbs ads trying to sell to you?

I think it involves air conditioning. But what's interesting about the ad is that it features a family with three kids. And I saw one with four yesterday. It used to be that if you saw an ad with a family that had over two kids, it was probably for a minivan. Maybe the ad companies have...

Spoilers "Regeneration" did not deserve the hate.

Before watching the classic Next Generation story "Q Who", where Q convinces the Enterprise crew they need him by sending them into a sector of space where they get a good ol' fashioned Borg-style asskicking, I actually decided to skip a few episodes of Enterprise onto the relevant episode...

    Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Anyone find PG-rated villains on network TV shows kind of funny? Especially these hardened criminals who have been in the life for as long as they know, served time in prison, murdered people. Then when they get mad they say things like "BS" and "crap." And then on the flip side, these shows...

    "Future's End": Starling's villainy?

One wrong move and you're holo-dust.

    "Future's End": Starling's villainy?

I honestly didn't find Starling that compelling. Ed Begley, Jr. played him too cartoonishly 'bad corporate executive' for me to call him a villain. (Likely an acting choice by Begley rather than what the script calls for.) I'd probably rate Starling a 2.5 out of 10 on the villain scale.

    News? Stories from Dubious Sources

They would trust Year One to the same people who've just sent SNW S3's ratings off a cliff? :shifty: Clown Show Trek isn't bringing in the bucks either (There's no suspense. We all know that Spock, Uhura, Scotty, and Chapel are going to be okay.) P+'s new CEO Cindy Holland wants more...

    "Future's End": Starling's villainy?

If I am remembering the episode correctly, Starling is a tech mogul who gets his hands on 27th century tech and wants to monetize it for his own personal profit. He does do some immoral things to protect his interests. He is definitely an antagonist. But he is not outright evil. He is not...

Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

I said *somewhat* ;) I.e at least the TNG crew went out on a happy note and Data wasn’t dead anymore. More fitting for that crew. I don’t think Who *needs* finales at all. Not when things are ticking along fine. Doctors need finales, but we don’t need finales once a year/season. Aside from...

    Re-Watching VOY

Like you said, fans of horror can appreciate this in ways you might not. I still stand by my statement of this being a good episode. It's a great Tom Paris character piece. And The Doctor did say POSSIBLE later evolutionary stage. I do agree that the babies they had at the end was...

    The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

I am trying to search viewership ratings for the show... so far unsuccessful, but found this article which says the season 3 premiere was the lowest in this shows history...the rest of the season has got to be worse. It's a good thing they already have season 4 ...cause I don't see it going past...

Last Classic Who Story you watched

I wouldn't put it that way. RTD just continued the precedent that had already been set by the last couple of McCoy seasons in going deeper with the character development, as well as the precedent of the McGann movie's more cinematic and action-oriented style.

Last Classic Who Story you watched

Survival Figured I might as well finish off the McCoy serials. I haven't watched Remembrance nor Ghost Light lately. I doubt I'll be Ghost Lighting it up - that story took like 3 times of viewing it for me to make sense of it. Survival is really a proto-RTD1 era story. Visiting Ace's hometown...

    Re-Watching VOY

While my review is briefer, my score is identical. "Alliances" is a type of story I happen to dislike, where the main characters have a problem. They go through a whole lot of crap trying to solve it, completely fail to... and decide to just live with it. Who cares if we keep getting the crap...

    Re-Watching VOY

Getting back into this. I left off with Paris starting to get sick. So, I guess we're going to have to get Down with the Sickness! Cue Disturbed. You know what else it reminds me of, since horror was brought up? Alien, when Kane got what he thought was "sick" and Parker was like, "Come...
