It's always weird to me when people talk about things that were always normal in TV as if they were somehow unique to the streaming era. It's always been the case that only a minority of shows get as much as three seasons, and getting five or more is exceptional. The reason the 1980s-90s Star...
Please point out where I blamed executives for killing shows. CBS is canceling SNW, however they choose to do it, as is their right, as they own the property. And they are clearly not interested in continuing with a new show along the same vein.
I would think it self-evident that that proves they did not want to cancel it "as soon as possible." On the contrary, they chose to extend it as much as they could justify.
And my point is that it is erroneous to cast executive decisions in terms of what they want or are interested in. It's not...
Are you unaware of the circumstances? CBS was ready to cancel SNW after season 4. But the producers still needed time to end the show properly, so CBS gave them a two hour movie in lieu of S5. The producers begged with them to give them more, because two hours still wasn’t enough. So CBS...
No, because if they were interested in ending it as soon as possible, they wouldn't have approved season 5 at all. I'll never understand people who think that all network/studio decisions are only about what the executives want to do. Making television is not free. You can only do it if...
Good catches. Interesting that history repeated itself with Five-O, but odd that it wasn't the Magnum reboot that benefitted. Although I see that the two reboots had Peter Lemkov and CBS Studios in common but not Kurtzman/Secret Hideout.
Also, wasn't there a White House-based series that reused...
Magnum P.I. was created to reuse sets that were left over from Hawaii Five-O (which had been cancelled the previous year).
NCIS Hawai'i reused sets from Alex Kurtzman's Hawaii Five-O reboot.
L.A. Firefighters DESTROYED sets that were left over from Space: Above and Beyond.
I really liked Lower Decks.
I am not really sure why they cancelled/ended the show. It could have gone on for years.
I think the characters were promoted too soon. For me, it curtailed the whole lower decks vibe. They all had to grow up and accept responsibility too soon.
Don’t get me wrong...
Yeah, that reason is called "cost."
The streaming bubble burst hard in the shadow of the dual strikes. The film industry is in rough condition at the moment, thanks to private equity rotting out the means of production, all in favor of pumping-and-dumping short-term profits to shareholders.
Oh, I can see how that would turn off some. Some games have toggles for that reason.
And I actually feel steering assist can make games more difficult, particularly in racing games.
