I have ignored all the articles about how "horrible" Monica Lewenski felt after being mentioned in a season 1 episode until today. Why? Cuz if anyone should feel horrible about being mentioned in season 1... it should be "poor" Taylor Swift. Monca was a throw away line/metaphor to indicate how Daya should act with Pornstache. A cultural touchstone from the 90's like TNG's famous alternative communication episode... "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra."

If Monica is afraid to hear people refer to her, she needs to watch pre 1992 stories or scifi pieces set so far in the future they don't know who Clinton is, much less Monica.

Now poor Taylor swift wasn't just a throw away metaphor line, she was a running joke in season 1, one that was pretty darn funny and Jenji Kohan is probably lucky she doesn't have a song written about her by now. ;)

Then again... I suspect Taylor has a better sense of humor than Monica has, or maybe she hasn't gotten around to binging the show yet. :lol:
