I'm seriously interested in the answers to this question. I've watched all of TOS and TNG and some of STV and DS9, yet my choice is the first one--I don't care about continuity (it's important within a series, but not between series).

What does the choice, "Dislike ENT for other reasons entirely", have to do with a question about the importance, or lack of importance, of continuity?

Hmmmm...I guess it might mean that continuity isn't important there, either--it's the opposite of the first choice.

Well, the poll is a bit vague I guess. Let's say I love ENT, I love Trek, but I would also like a new series that would continue from Voyager. What should I vote then?

That seems to imply that liking ENT or disliking ENT, exclusively involves how one feels about Trek continuity.

Lets say someone dislikes ENT because of the characters. That has nothing to do with continuity. I think your poll idea is interesting but the last choice isn't germaine.

I think that if you dislike it because of the characters and don't care about continuity, you choose the last choice, and it you dislike it because of characters and continuity, you choose the 4th choice.

I like Enterprise, but I have to think of it as being AU to really enjoy it.

I like ENT. Don't mind if there is a lack of continuity as long as characters remain consistent. In fact, I prefer episodes to be new and fresh. Makes it easier to miss episodes from time to time without having to feel like I missed an important link in the chain.

Disliking ENT because of the characters may not have anything whatsoever to do with how one feels about continuity. Just because one disliked ENT because the characters does not necessarily follow that one also does not care about continuity.

One could care about continuity but dislike ENT ONLY because of the characters.

Ah--but this is a poll about the link between your attitude towards ocntinuity and Enterprise. If you feel strongly about continuity, but not as it relates to Ent, and still hate it for the characters, then choose the last.

If you find this poll poorly worded, then please feel free to ignore it--I won't take it personally.

I don't really care about Trek continuity all that much.

Continuity here is totally "Do unto others as you would expect them to do unto you" for between series and between episodes of Enterprise... Is that new movie going to pay any homage to Enterprise? Is that new Movie going to imply things that totally blow Enterprise out of the water?

    Riddle me this Trekkies...

How difficult is to make a Vulcan/Human hybrid?

As for the new movie, I would only care about continuity between it and TOS since it deals with TOS characters. I wouldn't expect the people working on the movie to check every bit of the plot with 4 years of Enterprise history--to me it's a TOS movie rather than a Trek movie, per se.

I like Enterprise and whatever continuity errors there were (Like the Akiraprise debacle) didn't derail from my viewing experience. It has to be something that most people would know is wrong, like Klingons inviting humans for a cup of tea, and there was no poison involved ;) Or Andorians being green or something.

Anything short of that, I honestly don't give a fuck.

I dunno, it seemed implied that Spock was conceived the old-fashioned way, from the dialog I remembered from "Journey to Babel."

But then again, every alien species seems to be compatible with every other alien species in Trek. The only time this was ever a problem was on DS9 with Worf and Dax. I can't fanthon how Spock, whose mother's blood is mostly iron, could have copper blood without dying in utero, and it's something that's bugged me since I took chemistry a few years back.

Moral of the story: Don't think too hard on that, it hurts the brain :p

So you're fine with the albino blind telepahic Andorians?

I fucking hate Pulaski. She ruined Diana Muldar in the 60s for me. I liked it that in one of those klingon Honor guides from Pocket books, that they said the real reason Klingons grow beards is because it would be cowardly to not give your enemy something to tug on half way through a fight... How many bald Klingons have we seen other than Christoper Plumber?

I was referring to the fact the the dead time pilot in Future tense was a Vulcan Human Hybrid but Phlox had to think hard to wiggle some genes so that T'Pol could carry Tucker's "naturally" conceived child in E squarred, but then it was said to be impossible to make that clone Demons, but the next episode they probably remembered about Lorien and said that it wasn't difficult at all and T'Pol and Tucker unaided could make a baby effortlessly if they felt like it.

    AND then there was Spock.

Personally, I like the pain in my brain. :)

I think you're making the Vulcan/Human hybrid issue more complicated than it needs to be.

ENT continuity issues were few, and no worse than any other series'. Nothing to get heartburn over.

I liked enterprise and do not think it destroyed continuity too much. There were a few bumps but overall it was a very enjoyable show.

It was never stated in Demons that a making a human/Vulcan clone was impossible. Nor was it stated in Demons/TP that creation of a human/Vulcan hybrid "wasn't difficult at all". We're given every indication that it is difficult because TP screws it up and Eizabeth dies as a result.

Trip tells T'Pol in TP that Phlox had found that a naturally born human/Vulcan baby wasn't impossible, not that it is, or will be, easy

I see no continuity conflict here from within ENT or within the general Trek universe.
Watching the episodes a bit more carefully might be the cure. :)
