It's Daniels! Think About it. He was really the only one from the future Archer met. We know from Voyager that someone from the future that's in the present can be a bad guy, when the present guy is good. If you look at the silloete(SP) of the future person, it looks like Daniels. It could be a mirror universe Daniels trying to shape our universe to his adavtage. I don't know if it has been discussed before, but I just recently watched season 1 again, and came to that conclusion. I wish we got to see the finished product of Enterprise. You realize, we would be going into the seventh season by now?

Well, the voice of Future Guy was James Horan, but that could easily be "falsified" to cover his true identity. Daniels and Horan do seem to have a similar build, so I don't know. Very possible, though, and excellent theory.

Daniels' face is way too long. Add to that the fact that it was a different actor entirely....

    No. Not a chance.

It's possible it could be an alternate Daniels of somekind. The screen capture from Cold Front is persuasive. The trouble is, Future Guy's silhouette seemed to vary each time, with a strong shoulder pad look in Broken Bow. Some swear you can almost see the combed forward hairstyle and pointed ears. I always subscribed to that Romulan theory myself too. Perhaps in the future, he's part of a faction opposed to being merged within the Federation and by destablising Archer's era, his people remain a galactic superpower.

I know. Believe me I've thought about that a lot, which isn't entirely heathly I'm sure. ENT would've been ending a few months before Young Star Trek arrives in cinemas.

    *shrug*

I guess I could step outside and point out the following...

*The writers never had a damn clue who this guy was. This lack of knowledge extends to the production crew responsible for his onscreen image.

*Sela was first seen in silhouette. Whle the voice was Denise Crosby's, the stand-in was someone else, and did not match her appearance exactly, and in particular did not have Sela's blond hair.

*Future Guy could therefore have easily been revealed as Daniels. Or as Archer. Or as Braxton. Or Valen.

But it's probably best in my view to assume... he was just some guy in the future, who definately wasn't anybody we knew. A soap opera contrivance about his identity might have been used at one point, but do we really have to see a bad plot contrivance where, fortunately, none exists?

I still think it was a Romulan from the 29th century or thereabouts trying to alter the history of the mid-22nd century in order to let his Empire win or even avoid the war with Earth and its allies...an altered timeline that might have prevented the Federation from existing at all. Plus, affecting Klingon politics with the whole Klaang-Sarin thing might have been aimed at making the Klingons a much weaker opponent for Romulus down the road.

And I still think it was Kirsty Alley trying to get revenge on her husband Spock for some silly spat in their marriage. She is half Romulan, so I guess that follows your thinking. :)

Did you know that there was a competition with the Star Wars Toys when Phantom Menace came out in so far that the kids had to figure out who Darth Sideous really was?

(HEY! "IN" causes a word to become it's opposite! Invert the meaning... Therefore to be "Sideous" is to be good and transparent. Palpatine is one (*&^ing delusional mot^&* f(*&$r. Maybe Darth Maul wasn't really about clawing peoples faces off, maybe he just liked going to the Mall?)

Braxton was from the 29th century, Future Guy is from the 29th century, and Berman thinks we're idiots that we'd be suspended by such a Holmesian mystery for seven years he'd be able to milk this till... I unofficially declare that the unwritten and unproduced 26th episode of season seven of Enterprise would have been called "You Can't Go Home..."

    Where was I?

They didn't use atomic weapons in Korea of Vietnam, or even Iraq today as recently Barak Obama was crucified in the press for touching the subject, because a limitation of arms delays the apocalypse. Daniels was 31st century. Future guy didn't have a pot to piss in for the backward technology he had to use to keep pace with the 31st century. For Future guy to have been Daniels he would have been prolonging the war by purposely using inferior weapons and technology against an enemy who would be laughing at him who was in fact also himself. Maybe there are rules? Future eras can only attack the past with the pasts weapons to avoid "giving them" a heads up on future technology, because frankly the Borg are really grateful to have had a sneak peak at all the technology on Voyager which was destined to destroy them utterly that they now have the opportunity to design safe guards and defenses against... Or maybe not?

All I know is that almost everything that came out of Daniels mouth was a lie and almost every thing that came out of future guys mouth was the truth. Archer was so on the wrong side.

I had a feeling Daniels might be Future Guy too. It would explain how Archer was able to jump out of that future communications pad and kick Silik at the start of Season 2 when he was stuck in the future.

Daniels to me was always the bad guy and future guy was the good...guy. Daniels was allowing the Enterprise to be blown up in season 1 till Silik stopped it. Future Guy also gave information to save earth from the Xindi.

But Future guy is from the 26th Century, or so Daniels says...

About Daniel's voice (possibly) it could be that the time communicator wasn't able to filter out future guy's voice completely. I envisioned Archer finally facing Future Guy, and he says "Who are you?" Then the shadow steps out as Evil Daniels. To be Continued appears, then we go into the series finale. As Spock would say, "There are alway's posibilities."

Daniels is 31st century, he says that future guy is from 2 hundred years earlier. Where did you get "26th Century" from?

Hmmm...an interesting answer to a question that can, for all intents and purposes, never be answered! If it was Daniels, however, it would make for a very convoluted explanation!

Knowing the kind of explanation they would have come up with, perhaps it is better that we never discovered who future guy was.

I wonder if it would have been a character and species we've never heard of. There's this big reveal, and we're all like, "Who's that?" I still like the idea of Daniels being him. The same person, but from two different timelines. We know from Shockwave that pulling one thing out of the past can affect the future. One thing could have happened later on that would've caused Daniels to go sort of evil. Remember, Daniels did say he learned to build pretty much the same technology in High School that Future Guy uses in Shockwave, part II. Does Berman/Braga do conventions? It would be interesting to see if they answer this question.

I know he is from the 31st Century. I thought they mentioned future guy is from the 26th. I must be thinking of the Sphere-Builders.

The thing is just because someone from the future wants a tragic event to occur doesn't mean they are bad guys. For all we know Archer and the NX were never suppose to have survived and all Daniels was doing was preserving history.

Afterall, the NX mission was launched early because of Klaang who crashed on Earth which was the result of a chain of events triggered by FG's interference. Same could be said for Kirk letting Keeler die. In the immediate future it was a tragic event but in the long term it was for a greater good.
True but FG's benevolence in warning Archer about the Xindi might have had less to do with saving Earth or the Federation for their sake and more to do with FG and his faction's survival depending on the Federation existing in the 26th century to thwart the Sphere Builder invasion that would have wiped out all life not just in the Alpha Quadrant but the entire universe.
Actually in "Cold Front" it was stated he was from the 27th or 28th century I can't remember which.
I think they never really figured out who FG was. I think on the season one DVDs they said it might have been a future Borg or Archer. I doubt FG would have ever been a familiar face. He or she definitely could have been from a familiar Trek species or like some of the other factions they could have been new species like Vosk and the Sphere Builders which make sense given that the Federation in the future would go onto encounter new threats we wouldn't have imagined.

Actually they didn't say in Cold Front.

    http://www.chakoteya.net/Enterprise/11.htm

I assumed I got that 200 years earlier from Coldfront, but Daniels just pointed at a pictograph to explain where Future Guy was basing his operations. Maybe it was in a different episode? but there's no mention of the phrases twenty, hundred, 28, 27 or 26 in the text.

The Battle of Procyon V occurred 400 years in Archers Future, Saul. I was only giving you a reference for where I subtracted 200 from. You would have to have been blind and deaf to have missed out on when Daniels came from if he was ever teling the truth.

i dont think you can call fg a good guy after what happened in shockwave.

as for daniels it would make sense if the daniels that we saw was a clone of the earlier daniels created to help deal with damage done by his earlier self.

to me either a romulan or an orion would have made sense.
both would benefit from controling how and when the federation formed.

as to why save earth from the xindi, perhaps they saw some future use of it.

i think either braga or berman once said it might have been archer from the mirror universe and among other canidates have been henry archer (well until the fourth season) wesley crusher and braxton.
