Very enjoyable, thank you. How did you do some of the flying shots? did you film the mountains from an aircraft, and composite in or is it all CG?
The flying shots were done by obtaining Aerial footage of similar area footage, camera tracking and then CGI composting. Not a bad compromise for no budget.
I agree. That effect was very good and considering the budget limitations, the point of diminishing returns would have kicked in very quickly. Good choice and well-executed.
Congrats on finishing another segment. Just getting to The End is always a reason to celebrate. A couple of quick nits for future productions: The film would be radically improved with a proper sound mix. With due respect to whoever did it, it's just not balanced right. Also, there are too many subsequent shots of Jones trudging through the landscape. They're rather inert and rather drag down the pacing.
We were very fortunate to have had Ralph Miller do our final master mix, and he is quite talented, our production takes responsibility for all on location recordings and initial mix that Ralph had to work with. I believe he did a great job improving our audio and we've solved many issues realized from the first episode. As well we've gleaned more knowledge moving forward.
Ah, well then the fault must be with the source audio, because I know Ralph's work well. He recently mixed TTI Act 4 for us and did a bang-up job.
I thought this was well done. In particular, I thought the acting was a much better than in most fan films. I'm not a big fan of shoot-'em-up stories, but this was a war between two technologically intelligent races on one planet, so it was appropriate. I found the number of bad shots by the Gongdea unlikely... particularly when compared to the landing party. They certainly didn't show any home court advantage. I hope, if the series continues, they find a good medical facility for the Andorian girl, who I especially liked and would miss. I don't know if those actors would even be available, but the set-up is interesting. Like Star Trek: Aurora, these folks are trying to get through space without the vast resources of Starfleet. But, they are still Starfleet officers (except the Romulan girl). Overall, very enjoyable. I'm not a big expert on this, so given how much I enjoyed this, I have no useful criticism. It pretty much gets a 'Bravo' from me.
I didn't notice any issues with sound at all this time, but I may have been paying more attention to the lovely scenery. And yes. I am talking about the scenery, not the actors. What a great location. Anyway, there was nothing that pulled me out of the story, and I enjoyed it.
Agree with many of the views already expressed. Technical issues/criticisms aside, I enjoyed the passion and energy of cast and crew, and really liked the characters. Look forward to seeing more of them. Feels like interesting period for fanfilms
A much stronger effort this time than in part 1, as it should be. A lot less needless multiple cuts when 1 extended shot should suffice (sorry but those in part 1 made me tear my hair out). Tyrone Loukas as Mercer is growing on me, though I'm truly puzzled why you didn't take advantage of the guy's obvious buff physique and have him engage in a great fistfight with one of the Gong'dea clones. Dr. Krenaire and T'vas are really appealing, both physically and as characters (though you might consider asking one of them to change their hair styles, since both have long raven hair. I can easily picture Krenaire adopting a Helen Noel do). The andorian still seems to speak too much like a Vulcan would, if she returns in part 3 some effort should be allocated to make her more distinct both racially and how she complements her captain. The level of violence is puzzling. Mercer vaporizes the attacking Gong'dea instead of simply stunning him. Jones seems unconcerned with doing the same to his fellow shipmates but he has his phaser on stun setting when he uses it on Mercer, then becomes all melodramatic about not being a murderer (?!?)... The Gimtao and the Gong'dea, now that this planet's story seems concluded, still feel underdevelopped as concepts. I have to admit you almost lost me at the 28 min. mark when you had T'vas spouting TNG-type technobabble. TOS never resorted to this idiotic fake futurespeak, please try to avoid this in your next installments.... Despite my quibbles, I enjoyed the energy and characters in your film. With stronger scripts and clear character motivations, you could have a winner of a series...
The Andorian woman is a Starfleet brat and spoke like one. She wasn't raised on the Andorian home world, and I thought she spoke like a Starfleet brat.
Mercer does fight the Gongdea in the beginning. The phaser was already set on highest setting from end of first episode. Jones kills Dubois in first episode out of panic, only stuns Mercer because he's a close family friend. Gongdea and Gimtoa may not be gone for good...
I don't have time for my usual in-depth analysis tonight but I wanted to get some comments out while the discussion is still going on: --Lousy shot composition -- the captain's face is cut off at his eyebrows in several shots. Better attention could have been paid to framing some of these shots. --Sound is all over the place, and not in a good way. --Too much purple. --Why is the doctor buried on the planet? Why waste time with it, let alone not bring him back to the ship? --The opening fight sequence is edited poorly. Choppy and without any sense of rhythm or pacing. --Color is completely nonsensical. Sometimes there's a greenish hue, sometimes it's "normal." Not sure I understand how or why this is. The shooting location in the desert is spectacular. The jerky camerawork is unsettling, but the location is great. The Anovos uniforms look great. Some care was taken it seems to have the actress playing T'Vas make her seem like the Vulcans we are used to seeing, however the Andorian Unara comes across as just as human as everyone else. Overall, a solid effort. There's definitely room for improvement, but these guys are on the right track.

Again, the Andorian woman's father was a Starfleet Captain. She was not raised on Andoria, but in Starfleet. And in Enterprise, at least, I felt the Andorians in spite of their appearances, did come across as more like humans than Vulcans. Anyway, the girl wasn't Vulcan but Romulan. I live in NYC. Guess what? People raised here have parents and grandparents from every corner of this planet. (OK, some of us, like me, go back further than that, our grandparents were born here). The UN had nothing on the NYC population in terms of diversity. But one thing you will hear echoed from every group of NY-born kids... whether their parents came from the American west or south (black or white), Asia, Africa, the West Indies, South America, Micronesia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East... We are all New Yorkers. And we can spot each other when we are out of town, in spite of our outward absolute diversity. And by the way, we have manners, they are just different than those in Middle America. I believe growing up in the diversity of Starfleet would have similar effects. Starfleet kids would be proud of their family background, but they'd be Starfleet first... and their behavior would be Starfleet. The Romulan girl wasn't Starfleet, so she, appropriately, didn't 'act' Starfleet. I am certainly not saying this show can't afford technical improvements. The sound quality of Part 2 was head and shoulders above Part 1. I also couldn't understand how the Gongdea, using weapons similar in quality to our weapons now, could destroy a group that could slip between dimensions. I suspect the 'ruins' aren't really ruins... well, I hope so. But this was one fine fan film.
Planning is underway on Secret Voyages next adventure. Although the cast returned last year to complete scenes for the second installment that was shot a year earlier, this will be our first full adventure shot from scratch in 3 years. As of this posting, the cast is ready to return and begin flushing our their charactures in greater depth. Sean collet (Dr. Cage) who was also a co producer with his production company foxx productions has agreed to take over as director to bring the next adventure to life. The premise of Episode 03 takes our crew to the world of Thalara where anything can be bought for a price. The newly gathered crew must begin to work together and navigate the challenges they will face from the planets inhabitants and the power hungry phycopath that rules.The story promises many surprises and charactures old and new from within the STAR TREK cannon.

Really, REALLY nice planet model. But I don't understand why the shuttlecraft is all blurred up at the end of the scene...
