Recently Spike TV aired the episode The 37's in which Voyager finds refugees from the 20th Century Earth on a planet in the Delta Quadrant. During the episode they're offered the opportunity to remain on this distant world to build lives there and Captain Janeway opens the decision up to the crew.

My question is if you were a member of the Voyager crew would you have stayed on the Planet?

I would'v stayed on Voyager. I'd rather get home then just give up and settle on some planet far away from friends and family.

I'd stay long enough to make it with that Karen Berlin chick.

Of course, with my macking skills, it would be 12 lifetimes to get to second base.

No, Voyager had only been lost for like 6 months when they found the 37's. I wouldn't have given up hope of getting home that quickly.

I would have stayed on Voyager.

I'd choose to stay on the Planet as it'd probably be an experience living on a human world on the other side of the galaxy away from known civilisation. It'd be like emigrating from one place to another and as a Starfleet crewmember just think of all the things you could teach the people of this new world, entire world history and technological advancements of the past 400 years.

I would remain with my shipmates.

The tenacity to explore the challenges of the unknown is what would have gotten me there in the first place, so why not continue journeying on ahead?

The Planet. I'd enjoy the challenge of building a new human civilization in the Delta Quadrant. Besides, coming from the Federation I would have knowledge that could prove valuable in getting that civilization back out among the stars one day too.

Definitely Voyager - at that point in their journey, I would have still had a lot of enthusiasm about getting back. Plus, the crew *were* having a chance to explore the unknown - even if they didn't get back to Earth, there would have been many new and interesting things about which to learn. Even the smallest of chances of reuniting with family and friends would have been another motivating factor for me.

Good poll by the way

Definitly Voyager. As the others stated, it was really early in the show. I'd still want to get back to Earth by that point. Also, the Borg dominate a lot of the Delta quadrant. I'd be fearful of building an entire civilization and then having them swoop in and assimilate it. Too many unknown dangers in the Delta quadrant...

Voyager, I'd be running Captain Proton with the Delaney twins while Paris and Kim are pushing buttons :)

I'm miffed that this episode did not show the 37's planet city when they went on the tour. It was hard to see the temptation of staying when the city was not shown.

I would have shacked up with Amelia and taken out her bug-eyed baffoon of a boyfriend.

^ I was always surprised that they included Fred Noonan to be honest. Very few people knew who he was.

Actually, little bit of trivia, Voyager got me an A in my aviation history class. My Professor asked the question one day of "Who was Amelia Earharts copilot and navigator." No one raised their hand and then he said "if you get it you get an A for the course."

I put my hand up, said his name, and the Professor dismissed me with an A in the course with the requirement I show up to class every once in a while. I didn't even have to take the tests.

No I am not kidding either.

They said it looked like any city on Earth, so I assumed it looked like San Fran., New York or maybe even Japan.

They probably couldn't afford a city painting after blowing the budget on the ship landing sequence. I liked that you didn't see the city and it was left to your imagination though.

    Try over 100,000.

It was too early in the show for anyone on the crew to want to stay behind. By I've wondered why no one on the planet would want to pull a Kes, and sign aboard Voyager.

^^I'm surprised that none of these people from the 1930's and 40's weren't the least bit terrified at seeing something that looks like Neelix.

If I was Jenny redshirt then yes. Especially considering how many of them became borg toe jam that continued on the journey.
