Giacchino is in a command gold uniform, isn't he? Cool.

I was listening for any little note or flair that would remind me of Khan's theme in TWOK.

I believe that's the orchestra conductor Ludwig Wicki, not Giacchino.

Sounds a bit Khanish to me. :D:evil::evil::evil:

Doesn't really remind me of Khan's theme at all. Khan's theme was angry and more sort of "in the moment." This, by contrast, felt colder and more tactical, with a certain distant sense of finality. Reminded me more of the music from Undiscovered Country (which is a GOOD thing).

I loved it, by the way. Can't wait to hear it in the theater.

Reminds me of John Adams somewhat

Cool! I'll always remember first hearing it via my iPhone - standing in the wind, rain and decending darkness, all alone on the seemingly-deserted Jordanhill Railway Station, in Glasgow, Scotland!

    Eeerie!

    And then my train arrived.
