Damn, Jadzia. You can even turn the cancellation thread into an oppertunity to show off your huge knowledge of Trek.

    Please tell me something new.

Good for Berman. Just because the whole of America liked it doesn't mean I have to.

I saw the episode. I know this.

Just because I don't feel the need to store every single moment of Trek TV history doesn't mean I don't know shit about Trek.

    ^^ I'm teasing you because you ARE a trip. That's why I used the " :p ". ;)

You may not like Cardassians and I personally don't care about them in any respect, but they were born on TNG and TNG "The Wounded" was quite a different type of episode for that series, sortof breaking the mold so to speak.

I don't think Jadzia was trying to bash your knowledge of Trek. Jadzia was simply backing up the argument with strong conclusive evidence, something everyone on this BBS needs to learn when they decide to launch arguements about nitpicky points or decanonization.

And I wasn't arguing nitpicky points or decanonization. I just stated that I didn't like the Cardassian stuff on TNG's last season, is all. It just didn't fit, IMO, unless TPTB wanted to prime the audience for the sole season that DS9 had no competition from another Trek show.

Saying you don't like something is fine, but going on the offensive without backing up your point is what I was talking about.

I go away for a week and look what happens. This is a shame. I really like Enterprise. Well, I guess at least It's going out on a high. :(

Well I think many of us just didn't like TNG's final season anyway because it was essentially written by 2 people, both of whom were trying to also write GEN, with one who planned on getting involved in DS9 and the other involved in VOY. This leaving Berman and Piller to try to manage what would be 3 series and a film. And yes, much of the setup there was to prime for DS9 and the inevitable move of Worf to that show at the conclusion of TNG's run, after having already moved O'Brien (who himself had been given a background dealing with Cardassians) and Keiko to DS9 to provide a link between the 2 shows. :)

I hope the BEEBs are done with the Trek franchise and vice-versa. It doesnt make any good business sense to risk any further damage with these guys involved when the smart corporate thing to do is bring in fresh ideas to give the franchise a fresh start. Having said that, I hope they bring back Manny Coto because ENT's demise should in no way reflect poorly on his efforts. He gave his best, but was essentially the captain of the Titanic coming to the bridge after it hit the iceberg.

Indeed .. it's hard to keep up with too. I'm one of those who have to have all my purple boxes clear on the first page, and every time I attempt to do so, someone else responds here.

Not to say that's a bad thing, it's not; it's a very good thing!! Keep up the replies and such -- show your love for Enterprise and Star Trek in general :p.

yeah it's not working, is it? nothing's working. even though I've been trying to talk myself out of it, keep some perspective, and watch my precious DS9 dvds, I find myself getting angrier and angrier as the days go by.

and you guys are making it worse. we all need to stay away from this forum! :scream:

I think I'll go out and get drunk tonight after I'm done watching United. it's the only way out of this funk. :(

all I keep thinking now is that dammit this was a GREAT CAST! and TPTB screwed them and screwed us. royally! :o

Berman makes me laugh with his comments:

"I don't think it has to do with the quality of the show. That just might be ego speaking"

OMG, he leaves it until the whole franchise is dead on its back before he lets the slightest shred of humility slip in. And even then only in a fashion.

Of course it was the quality, numbnuts. Do you think anyone beyond the age of 12 would tune into your train wreck of show for its first three years

Ugh, can't we please steer clear of these kinds of comments? There are many who did like the first three years, and there's no reason to take a pot shot at them like that. If you don't like Berman, fine. But don;t take a shot at fans of the show.

I agree that we should all be more respectful of the feelings of others here.

Many of us are already feeling the loss and dealing with it the best we can. Let us be considerate of the feelings of fellow fans.

This board is way too touchy feely.

Is anyone really going to have their feelings hurt by comments made about some TV show? :wtf:

    I doubt it.

Well please explain it to me then.

The acting was poor, writing terrible, and over-all story structure more often then not sub-standard.

Those rating didn't keep sliding because some magic wizard was waving his wand you know.

IMO the show was simply dire for most of its life. 18 pages irrespective.
