I voted for 'Shockwave Pt1' because I think it's the best performance Bakula has turned in as Archer. I liked how the deaths of the people at the beginning affected him so hard. We actually got pathos from him. And then when he learned it was a set up, he takes command and really becomes a leader. This was the episode that convinced me, finally, that he could hold his own as a Trek Captain. :)

I voted "Shockwave I" as well, but I haven't had a chance to see "Future Tense" yet so I reserve the right to change my mind at a later date :).

I think the TCW is the key to the series.
With the TCW as a thread in Enterprise's tapestry, there is the possiblity that this series will not necessarily go chonologically in the way the other series have gone. We could very well see Archer and crew skipping through different timelines. Perhaps we'll even see different eras of the Trek universe explored.
The TCW is a set up for that.
We have already seen the time line severely messed with in Broken Bow, Shockwave and Future Tense. These temporal incursions will have to be dealt with somehow. I think this will be the way B&B could tell a much broader Trek saga then seven years in the life of another starship and her crew.
    The signs are clearly there.
    Does anyone else see it??

Hated all temporal cold war stuff. Why did we not hear about this in any other episodes?!

[/i]... It's not mapping stars and charting nebulae, but charting the unknown possibilities of existence... That is the exploration that awaits you."[/i]

That was one Q's last words to Picard in the TNG episode All Good Things. And for me, it sums up what it is that draws me to Star Trek. I like character development and it does help to enhance the story, but if this franchise is to continue with a rotating cast, that's what it's going to take in order to retain it's audience. More situations and circumstances that I never considered before. More of the exploration of the unknown. ... and this is what the TCW is. Even though Shockwave II made me want to hurl, I put down that I liked them all equally. It has been the most entertaining arc of the series and I don't understand others distaste for it. It is quite simply more of the unknown possibilities of existence. ;)

I voted for Broken Bow. Of all of the TCW episodes, it was the only one that really held my interest and IMO had a fast pace and satisfying conclusion.

I don't mind the TCW, but I'm getting frustrated with the lack of conclusion we have at the end of each episode. I want to see more answers, that are crafty enough to lead to more questions. ;)

I voted for Future Tense because it actually aroused my interest in the TCW, and if you've read my posts on the TCW, you'd know why. But since you haven't ;)...

Basically, when ENT started I liked the TCW idea and was willing to give it time. However, IMO all good arcs must ask questions, resolve them, ask more questions, resolve them, etc. and progress the arc. After Shockwave 2 did nothing to actually advance the arc and then we had to wait over half the season to get another TCW episode, I began to feel disenchanted. Future Tense really did not move the TCW arc forward in a way that resolved any questions, but, by introducing the Tholians as a possibly hostile third party, a wild card if you will, into the mix, my interest was hightened greatly. Now, time will tell, no pun intended, if TPTB will capitalize on this new element and expand on it, but, for now, I'm happy with the TCW again...as long as by mid S3 we actually get some real answers to the questions that have been posed.

I went for the "They're All Good" approach, because, if I separate out how I feel about the eps in other ways/areas, the TCW stuff comes out about the same, every time.

I'm caught between "Wow, what does it all mean?" and "Yeesh. More time travel paradoxes, reset buttons, etc. So far, it just isn't getting to me: Time Travel is a Trek staple and has produced some of their best eps: City on the Edge of Forever, Yesterday's Enterprise, just not recently.

What makes the TCW different is that it's
    1) Not about time travel generally but about a war, some of which we've seen before in limply used storylines (29th century timecops, etc.) but as many have noted in Enterprise: nothing specific enough to take a bite of.
    2) For most humans, except perhaps Cochrane, this IS NEW. Even for the Vulcans it appears so new it's not believed. This should be played upon. Archer doesn't know how to convince anyone, T'Pol won't be convinced, Trip could care less, Malcom will believe what he's told, Hoshi will be scared of it, Phlox will be philosophical, and Poor Travis will be unaware. Only once, in Future Tense, do we see how humans handle this very tough concept: Trip and Malcom's discussion about the value of exploration vs. knowing the certain future.

The TCW has great potential, and it has certainly been played up more than the Klingons, the Romulans or the Vulcan-Andorian battles OR the BOTF storyline that was once rumored, but still, it appeared in the first, middle and last of Season One, the first, middle and ?? last ?? of Season Two.

It's there for effect, not for a reason. I want it to be there for a reason.

It was only a matter if time before they brought the Tholians in.
They were mentioned in Broken Bow.
I am psyched to see them as major players in the TCW.
See my post about my theory on the TWC storyline. It may give you more hope for the future of this show.

I loved Shockwave - Scott was exceptionally in that one. BUT them , I loved Future Tense with action and Archer as a mediator. Yet, Broken Bow, I like when Scott plays Archer with a take charge atitiude.

I do like the way you think! Here's hoping the writers write some more of both for Archer.

I voted "Broken Bow". Technically, I only voted for "Broken Bow" part one, but you only had the single option. "Future Tense" is a close second. I liked "Future Tense" for, even after five hours of the TCW, asking more questions than it answered.
