Yeah I suspect when all is said and done, Once will still be my favorite. But I'm still really intrigued by the fantastic imagery and darker tone of the Huntsman movie. It just looks really damn cool.
Makes you wonder why these two shows just shouldn't have been combined into one big stinky. And man, what is it with Bean ending up on 5 minutes of these fantasy clunkers. Even if you don't like him, you have to admit, his appearance in the trailer would have gone a long way. And if his lack of appearance in the trailer means he has such a small role ala the stinker that is Percy Jackson, well than that's just another reason to take a big ole pass on this one. Really, is it meant to be a comedy? What was Julia Roberts thinking? Really, I wish if someone wanted to do something unique or dark on the Snow White tales that they would just do a dang Rose Red show. I hope Theron is the star and focus on The huntsman one, making it about the Evil Queen, but we know its going to be TwiStewardhard and stink, too. Really, now I know why Fassbender passed, too. Yawn.
QFT! This is just astoundingly bad... Worst trailer of the year, IMO. On another forum, someone made this observation: It looks like a live-action Shrek. (done poorly)
Now I know why I mistook Snow White & The Huntsman as the Tarsem flick. That...it looks...what the fuck was he thinking!?!
I liked that trailer. It looks like an action science-fiction movie with mindless fun. That just me. I like my science fiction to be fun and light-hearted.
Eh I didn't think it looked that bad. Most of the comedy was a bit lame (although I did chuckle at the Scarface joke). It seems like they're going to make Snow White a sort of Robin Hood character, which is actually kind of what she's like in Once Upon a Time. It also reminds me a bit of the BBC children's series Maid Marion, where it twisted the tale of Robin Hood so that Maid Marion was the one in charge of the merry men. I doubt I'll see this in the cinema but I'll probably see it at some point.
Well I suppose if this was the only Snow White thing coming out, it would look like a decent enough guilty pleasure. But next to the excellent Once Upon a Time and that cool Huntsman trailer, it just looks cheap and idiotic as hell. Instead of doing anything interesting with the idea, it comes across as just another lazy, Shrek-style parody.
Hmm, the reviews are looking surprisingly good so far. I guess it's not the outright disaster that it appeared from the trailers. Still doesn't look like anything I'd want to see though.
The tv ads make it seem less bad than the trailer did. Still...there's no way i'm seeing it at the theater. Maybe when it's on HBO.
I liked it. But then comfort of your own home kinda makes most movies overly tolerable. It's been 14 years and i still resent the time I wasted seeing Daredevil in the theater.
I like the Huntsmen trailer better, but I'm still worried it's going to boil down to the Twi crowd. This Mirror, Mirror, I actually wonder why they didn't make it a musical? It has all the big over the top camp scope for it. But still, there's been like one ioda sign of Bean as King. What a waste. I might attempt for him on video, but eh. Wasn't this one or 2 at the box office with Wrath of the Titans? It seems like that must be a very light weekend.
Everyone was too sad to sing. until the end. And then they sang. The audio in my print cut out. What was the song at the end? I'm shit at reading lips.
