Well, I wouldn't say "a major can of worms" - just a relatively small detail that is nonetheless important in distinguishing your crew. But I understand if it's the only ones available - that doesn't surprise me. STO is one of those stupid things that tries to "rectify" all forms of Star Trek by mashing all the eras together into one indistinguishable mess, which always involves trampling over TOS and the things that make TOS distinct (like giving TOS ships warp cores when they shouldn't have any, physical torpedo casings when TOS ships used pure energy photon torpedoes...everyone wearing the same badge, even if they're not from the Enterprise...it goes on and on).

But enough about STO. I hope your story is able to progress well, and that you have some people who are really knowledgeable about TOS on your writing staff, as it were! :)

You haven't lived until you've been in a bare-knuckle, Captain Kirk style fist fight with a Jem'Hadar.

How about a Star Trek-Yorktown adventure concerning those supplies it needed to transport to Theta VII(from TOS second season episode 'Obsession')? I'm curious to know how Captain Mason and his crew handle the situation.

There are several ideas I have for tying in with "Obsession" along with a couple other TOS episodes the same way that "Trials of War" tied in with "Errand of Mercy."

Well, since whatever writing I've been doing has been focused on the second story, tentatively titled "Imperfect Solutions," I guess I won't be doing annotations. But, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
