Bleach - Anime Disscussion (Spoilers)

Well it's better than the Bount arc at least, and probabally the best filler arc in Bleach though that's not saying much....

If the Zampakuto filler arc would have ended as strongly as it started instead of fizzling out I would have said that one was the best but it totally fell apart at the end after Muramasa was out of the picture.

Should have ended it after Muramasa bit the dust, instead it lingered on like a sick old cat.

The "Rouge Beast Sword Arc" after the Zanpakto arc should have been three episodes at most, not 1/2 a freekign season.

I like the New Captain filler as well. It took a while but the princess grew on me eventually.

I agree, the Zanpakutou filler should have ended with Muramasa`s death but I think it was artificially stretched because more filler time was needed.

The anime could become very interesting indeed! Tite Kubo ended the Arrancar arc very abruptly and left a lot to the imagination. So far the anime filled in everything and I am very curious if this will continue.

I am very much looking forward to the episode showing a movie prequel! By the way, the special movie prequel chapter in the latest Shonen Jump was really good and I wonder if we will see it one day as an anime as well.

"Hell" has been on the board since the first block of episodes if I'm not mistaken, so I figured he'd get there eventually.

Baerbel Haddrell, what has the anime "filled-in" that Kubo glossed over in the Manga? Just curious.

They really need to let Uruyu Ishida kill the really nasty guys, because when a Quincy kills a Hollow he destroys it, it ain't comming back.....Not even from Hell. When a Shimigami kills a hollow he "purifies it" with his zanpakto and it can come back from Hell etc...

I don't think purified hollows ever go to hell at all, some can't be purified as they're just that evil from their living life and those are the ones that go to hell.

http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Hell

When you kill a hollow in the world of the living they go to hell if they were really evil in life.

But why would an arrancar end up in hell from being killed in heuco mundo?

Here is my theory: The Hell Gate doesn't appear in heuco mundo like it does int he world of the living, when a hollow gets killed in heuco mundo by a zanpakto, it goes to the 'neither world' place that links Soul Society, Heuco Mundo, and Hell to be either re-born in soul society or to Hell as their former selves if the dominant personality of the hollow was a sinner in life.

@ Technobuilder

I can`t remember everything right now also because a lot are just short scenes added here and there.

The fight against Yammy was extended a lot. The whole teamwork of Renji and Chad vs. Yammy was filler. Also Ishida vs. Yammy was extended and his fight against Ulquiorra was longer. All we saw in the manga was him running with Seele Schneider at him and flying back with his left hand missing.

After the “to be continued” scene Tite Kubo didn`t show anything of what happened on the dome in the manga. We saw Ichigo rushing down and seeing Chad and Renji being unconscious. Rukia was wondering what happened. Both healing scenes shown as flashbacks were filler. How Chad and Renji ended up like this was not shown either in the manga.

All this time Ichigo didn`t mention Ishida and Orihime even once and they also didn`t appear in the manga until much, much later – the anime is not that far yet.

Rukia`s nice scene with her brother is filler. Keigo`s appearance in the latest episode was longer. Ah, yes – Aizen clapping during a fight was an addition, too – a really good one, I thought!

The episode showing the origin of Harribel is filler. It was never shown in the manga also not the scene earlier showing her kneeling in front of Aizen.

I am sure there is more.

@ Meredith

About the deaths of Arrancar – there is so much Tite Kubo hasn`t explained yet! My guess is that what counts is what the dominant hollow did when he was alive before he started to consume other hollows to evolve further. This would be the personality also left behind when being killed.

I think all hollow souls left after purification but don`t have spiritual powers automatically go to the Soul Society. But I think it would make sense to have a defense mechanism in place that would repel souls that would be a danger or would be for other reasons unwelcome. Maybe there is a holding area for some souls and they are being judged. I can imagine this applies to Arrancars. Others might be excluded automatically. I think this applies to the Quincies.

308...
Come on now.... Gin turns on Aizen. How can this thread not be revived from the dead?! Also, we get the facepalm to end all facepalms  This was an awesome episode. the next couple should be sick.

anyone hear anything about possible filler?

No but I did hear that the show could be ending soon. It was posted by one of musical groups doing one of the upcoming ending themes on Facebook and then promptly removed less than a day later. So either it was wrong info or Studio Pierrot didn't want that info leaked yet. Scuttlebutt is that it will end after this arc, and possibly start back up again later with a new series when there's a lot more manga. I vote for series 2 being called Detergent! :p

As for the series I've been ignoring it for the last couple weeks because of the awful filler inquisition, which pissed me off, so I just gave up for a while. This show is fire and ice; when it's good it's really good and when it's bad it's frickin' awful. I'll have to pick it back up again if they're actually back to the story.

There aren't many eps left in the Aizen arc. probably two, three tops. i definitely wouldn't mind seeing the series come to a halt after the current story ends. the filler is usually meh, and i agree it does take you out of the regular stories. i just caught up on the show this week due to being bored with the last go around of filler. the Gin part makes up for it though

Been awhile since I last check in on this thread.

I've been reading the new manga arc and just wanted to ask if anyone thinks they have a clue what the hell is going on yet? (LoL)

Way to go Kubo, just when I though we'd run out of new allies/enemies to discover, Fullbringers appear yet they've been around since the first series and we just didn't know it. :-)

It has been a while since I visited this place. It is good to see that this thread hasn`t died after all.:)

I can provide some news about filler. What the anime team did turned out to cause quite a stir in the fandom. In the manga Ichigo lost his powers right away after he woke up. There is a very touching good-bye scene between Rukia and Ichigo that left a big impact on a lot of people. I also enjoyed it a lot.

The anime team decided to cut this very last scene. They changed the story somewhat, saying that Ichigo still has his powers although it is unstable and he could lose it tomorrow, maybe in a year. THEN Ichigo will lose consciousness again and the cut scene will be shown. Changed was also that Ichigo woke up in the Soul Society instead of at home.

I think this solution is very clever and hopefully the filler will be worthy of the missing scene that I consider to be the icing of the cake. The parallels with the Bount story are obvious – this could become a Bount story done right and I find this very exciting!

So far we are in the middle of a bunch of short story fillers. Start will be episode 317. I don`t know anything about it yet. According to a fan who also posts in Bleach Asylum the title is “The invading army”. Czeliate is usually well informed. It shouldn`t be long and I should be able to find out more.

By the way, “The Substitute Shinigami Badge arc” that started after the “Arrancar arc” in the manga is brilliant so far! I am looking forward to each new chapter each week and seeing this animated will be a real treat for me!

I think the “Fullbring” idea is brilliant, Technobuilder. It shows how well Bleach is planned.

I enjoyed seeing Aizen finally lose and get the "Not as planned" face. I'm really not looking forward to more filler at all though. :brickwall:

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on the anime due to all the filler scene insertions.

Filler Arcs by themselves were fine (a necessary evil) especially when they could be avoided by just not watching those episodes, but now they've gone and integrated filler material and scenes into Manga Arc 'source material' just to stretch and fill time.

It's gotten so bad that I just can't stand to follow it week-to-week any more.

Guess I'll be stuck reading the manga from here on in.

Of course maybe they'll pull a DBZ: Kai and edit the anime bloat down in 20 years.

Part of me wishes, they'd just called it on Bleach and taken a 2 year break to return with Bleach: Shippudden after the jump.

I have to be honest. Whether or not I watch an episode now depends on Crunchyroll's episode description. If it sounds like filler, which it usually is pretty obvious, then I take a pass. :borg:

I think compared with what short fillers generally looked like in the past nowadays they are much better than they used to be! I also think that the vast majority of inserted fillers in episodes fit very well and actually add something to the story. But that is me.

Nevertheless, I am glad when the bunch of one episode fillers is over. There are only two more to go.

The full title of the long filler is the Gotei 13 invading army arc. A few pictures emerged that hint at it that the new filler could be “our” Gotei 13 being invaded by a Bleach mirror universe. There were pictures hinting at a fight of Byakuya vs. Byakuya and Kenpachi vs. Kenpachi.

In general I liked the mirror universe idea in Star Trek and it could also work well with Bleach especially when there will be much more behind it than obvious action fireworks.

Now that idea actually sounds intriguing...

I hope they don't drive it into the ground like they did with the Zanpakto arc.

I was enjoying it after a few rough episodes and then it went off the rails and I stopped caring.

Does the Manga pay the bills more than the Anime?

You'd think the manga would take less time to produce than the anime.

The last one episode filler will be shown on Tuesday. Hopefully at the end of the episode we will already find out more about the new long filler story.

These are translations of the first three titles:

317 Gotei 13 invading army arc! Unusual incident in Seireitei?!

318 Battle with comrades! Renji vs. Rukia?!

319 Ichigo`s capture net!

I am very curious because I also find this idea very intriguing!

I have no idea if the Manga pays the bills more than the Anime but I am sure if the Manga is not popular enough there also won`t be more Anime.

There have been delays because of holidays. Then Tite Kubo had been sick and there was one week delay because of the natural disasters in Japan but usually there is a new Bleach chapter out every week!

I have just counted – after the end of the Arrancar arc we are only 19 chapters into the new one, the “Lost Substitute Shinigami Badge” arc. Usually there are two to three chapters in one episode. This means the manga is extremely close to what the anime has been showing!

Long filler stretch is in order I guess then. :scream:

Well, the big man himself, Kubo, is alive and well over there, probably churning out more manga as I type. He was on Twitter, checking in with his fans a few days after all that happened.
