If a Star Trek fan produces a original sci-fi webseries, can it still be called a fan production? It's an honest question, as it may or may not mean that I've posted here inappropriately...:vulcan:

I’m looking for a CG artist to bring to life a stunning piece of concept art by artist Tony Treloar for my upcoming sci-fi web series, New Gods:

Ideally, I’d like to see a rendering of the surfboard and sail, and possibly several seconds of animation of the board sailing into the Sun, as in the image.

This is a paying gig, although the budget is tight so it’ll have to be negotiable. The goal is for this to demonstrate both your work and how well we work together. If things go well, it could lead to an offer to do Visual FX for the New Gods series, and bigger pay.

Look forward to hearing from you soon,
    Vince

Thanks! I was inspired by some of the great films I've seen here.

Well it can't be a fan production because it is an original webseries and thus has no fans yet. If it's origianal it is your baby. Dennis has Polaris which is not Star Trek so there production/distibution under there legal full control and also not a fan series. It is talked about here because it has some simmilarties to Trek and the people that are working on it also work on Star Trek fan film projects also.

As for CGI artists, there are several that visit this board, maybe some one will answer the call. it's a bit slow here during the holidays though.

Well, we talk about Polaris here because:

    1. This is the place on the board where we talk about making films rather than watching them; and
    2. No one has stopped me yet.

    The more the merrier!

Nice meeting you in St Mary's, offtrackv

Pretty neat looking. It looks exciting.

It reminds me a bit of the great "solar surfing" scene with Jim Hawkins in Disney's Treasure Planet:

Thanks, Dennis and Greg. Dennis, it was nice meeting you too. Polaris is looking great!

Greg, thanks for that pic. I had no idea! Gotta go rent that movie now. And it goes without saying that Phase II looks great as well. Can't want for new episodes from you guys

Thanks to you both for inspiring hopefuls like me to get in the game. :bolian:

Well, you can probably save yourself the trouble of renting it. Just watch it here. (The segment is about a minute long right near the beginning of the movie--from about 3:40 to 4:50.)

And thanks for the nice comments. Best of luck in your project.
