Picard had the Inner Light and Chain of Command as well acted episodes. Sisko had the Visitor and Far Beyond the Stars. Which Janeway episodes were stand-out acting ones?
Season 1: Caretaker, Prime factors. Season 2: Resistance, Deadlock, Tuvix. Season 3: Sacred Ground, Macrocosm, Coda. Season 4: Scorpion part 2, The Year of Hell 1 & 2, Season 5: Counterpoint, Latent Image, Dark Frontier 1 & 2. Season 6: Memorial, Good Shepard, and honorable mention to (gasp ) Fairhaven. Season 7: Imperfection, Shattered, Repentence, The Void, Endgame.
^^ I completely agree! But let me add a few... Season 1: Eye of the Needle Season 2: The 37s Season 4: Living Witness (I liked the "bad" Janeway ) Season 7: Repression (LOVED the death glare!!!)
Yeah, Season 2's "Resistance" with her working with the guy driven mad by guilt is a great showcase for Janeway.
Janeway episodes? Well... Time and Again Resistance The Thaw Sacred Ground The Killing Game Counterpoint Equinox Unimatrix Zero
I think Equinox was one of the best realistic Trek Episodes in entire series. Trek captains and leaders are portrayed as one dimensional characters. Rarely if ever flawed and often cut out characters IMHO of surreal leadership. Real leaders are flawed individuals - Equinox displayed a side of Janeway brilliantly acted to Mulgrew that illustrates how even well intentioned and disciplined leaders can and do lose it.
Yeah, but that wasn't the first time Mulgrew had done that on a Voyager episode, and Ryan did it once as well.
Yeah, the illusion is perfect. I couldn't tell that Mulgrew was acting against nothing. She always says how difficult it was filming those Captain/Adm. scenes. Right, she'd done it in "Deadlock" and I loved that scene as well!!!
"Author, Author", and you are correct, sort of. Her double stands in to show the back of the captain's head as Janeway plays the medical character, IIRC. I don't think there's a face-to-face, split screen thing going on there. I could be completely wrong, though. I can't check youtube right now.
Yes there is a face-to-face shot, I just watched that episode yesterday. But only a short one. And the episode is called "Author, Author" Well if we count those, then she also did it in Coda, when Janeway1 lies dead on the biobed in sickbay and Janeway2 is trying to convince the computer to confirm her voice pattern. I agree with Workforce! Great episode. Nice to see a different side of Janeway. I loved how she was really annoyed by Amal Kotay!
