I'm cautious about this one. The AVP movies were awful. I just don't know how much life this franchise has in it anymore.

The main character uses an AA-12. That's freaking badass.
Predators is ignoring the AvP movies and was produced/directed by a totally different group of people, and it has a quality cast as well. When I first heard about this movie, I kind of rolled my eyes, but now as it gets closer to release I'm starting to feel more cautiously optimistic about it.

There are some elements that I like the idea of. Setting the film on an alien world and forcing unlikable people to work together are two plot elements that should work well.

But I'm still cautious. It's been 20 years since the last exclusive Predator film, and the AVP movies were a disaster. I'd say Predators is make or break for the franchise.

AvP was a great fun action movie that has become de riguer to bash while the second had NO redeeming qualities.

I am really looking forward to this in a four or five month period with virtually NOTHING coming that resembles the usual summer blockbuster.

I'll see it, but I'm not particularly excited. There are few movies that I really look forward to these days.

    I'm intrigued. Looks interesting.

But, seriously, Adrien Fucking Brody as an action-hero?

It has Laurence Fishbourne in it...That's a big plus for me...IF he survives.

Though i wonder how that works...it sounds like the Predators kidnapped the best warriors of earth...but how did they do that? Or will we see some flashbacks of how that was accomplished?

Not sure if i'll go straight out & see it, but definitely will be Red-boxed, if anything

I think I will actually go see this one in the theaters, not a fan of the AVP series but I like both Predator films.

Looks good, but I agree this will make or break the franchise.

According to the press release that was sent to Starfest in Denver last April, this film ignores all but the first film. Danny Glover and Gary Busey don't even get a mention in this one.

Well, it takes place on a totally different planet. I'd be surprised if there were references to any of the previous movies.
