June 2010 Challenge Theme: "Losing it" The Rules: Write a story where a character or characters "loses it" in a big way. This can be an emotional meltdown, an exploding temper tantrum, a panic attack, or just plain going nuts! The bigger the blow-up, the better (especially if it's out-of-character, but that's your call.) The story must fall within the Star Trek domain but can be any era - canon or your own ST characters. And yes, Cardassians (or other non-Federation races) are welcome too. Guidelines: 5000 words or less. Deadline for submissions is June 30 at 11:59 PM Central Daylight Time (4:59 AM GMT on July 1). Only one submission per author allowed. Stories must be linked to this thread to be considered in the vote. Questions? You have but to ask.
I look forward to seeing the entries here. It's weird, though...I would consider entering, but I feel very protective of AU Dukat. I know he has an illness, but I just feel how much he wants his privacy. It's not his illness he's ashamed of, but he doesn't feel safe in those times with a bunch of strangers around.
Oh man, I've got one that would work perfectly... Except that it's already way to long and from my Katana universe... Welp... back to the drawing board.
True. I've done the story of how he came to be raised by klingons. But not much of the subsequent years. It's about time I do some work in that area.
This just might be the kickstart/origin story I need for a new project I've been mulling... must mull some more... (BTW, congrats on the win, TLR!)
Here's my entry: "Then Welcome, Hail! Damnation" http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=123641 Edit: for some reason, the link takes you to the second post (second half of the story). Not sure how to fix it, but hopefully the link above is OK as far as entry purposes are concerned.
Oops. I just realized the prologue/teaser I just posted for Tesseract Part II would have been perfect for this challenge. Too late for that now, correct? (Not sure I have it in me to write another meltdown at the moment! )
