What has been keeping me from my TMP Enterprise for the last little bit. At this time I have no plans to convert these to 3-d.

A large scale image of A-deck, with the bridge in the center. The outer ring has sloping ceilings, but I have not denoted how sloping and where the 2m (6') line is.
This is that same deck, in scale with the remainder of the plans.
B Deck is quarters, the outer ring is double bunks, allocating 48 bunks in 24 rooms (12 suites). The inner quarters are individual bunks, for more senior crew and VIP's. Also we have the Main Computer spaces, the high bay of Stellar Cartography, and the Mess.

C-Deck is Shuttle Hangars (3) Cargo Bays (2), Transporter Rooms (2), Labs (4), Sickbay, a Briefing/Conference Room, and the main level of Stellar Cartography. Also two VIP Suites (Captain's Quarters and...?).

D-Deck is by far the largest. Here we have the low bay of Stellar Cartography, the Armory, the Brig, Main Engineering, Impulse Engineering, Ship's Stores, Ships Shops, Bulk Storage, Airlocks, Docking Ports, and the Main Energizers.

Please feel free to rip it apart. I have not denoted a scale, but everything is built to scale. I may go back and do some color coding of these images to better clarify what we see.

Fantastic layout. I look forward to seeing what you plan on doing for the secondary hull and connecting dorsals; the contents of which have long been a source of some debate amongst the fandom. ;)

One knit, though - if you're looking at making this a TMP-era Oberth, like the USS Grissom, I'm afraid the bridge is a little off. I actually prefer what you did compared to what we got (especially with those abysmal pink chairs - damned 80's and their pastel sensibilities), but if you go back and look at how it was laid out in ST3, you'll notice that the command chair and nav/helm console was off-center from where it was on the Enterprise and Reliant, implying a more "oval" layout and no recessed floor. Ex Astris has a good illustration of this. I personally hate the oval design, but it is more a matter of accuracy than aesthetics in this particular case. Otherwise, absolutely top-notch.

^ Interesting illustration of the Grissom's bridge.

Maybe my eyes played tricks on me, but it looked to me like there was only one person sitting at the helm/nav console on the Grissom's bridge. Maybe the filming just didn't show the other person, assuming there was one.

In ST3, to make the Grissom bridge look different, they took the captain's chair and helm console setup and rotated them 180 degrees. That's why the science type console that Savvik's at is to the front/left of the helm:

and David, hanging out beside Savvik's console is beside the curved wall of the turbolift:

As far as if there's a turbolift or even a door there (don't think the door enters shot in the movie) is up to you, and even what's at the back of the Grissom bridge (not shown onscreen).
Also, as you're using the Enterprise bridge, you've got the weapons console there, which, being a science vessel, probably wouldn't be there. If you decide that it has any minimal defensive weapons like a phaser bank, I'd think it'd be handled at the helm, like Sulu did in the original show. That's just my idea though, you could certainly keep the weapons console.
I ended up deciding that it *was* a door beside David, but do whatever you like, just pointing it out.

What software are you using? The aliasing in it is really destroying all your hard work.

looks like a CAD package. it probably looks better output to a large format plotter.

hmm... i wonder if anyone's written an HPGL2 to Raphael translator yet.

This is not the Grissom, this is a "Special Projects Ship" (in the Intelligence vein), thus she is armed - not to stand toe-to-toe with capital ships, but enough to shoot her way out of sticky situations (I guess think of this as a Recon/Scout ship vs. a Science Vessel). Thus justifying the weapons station.
I am of the school that says the secondary hull is a largely unoccupied sensor and fuel pod. There are no tubo-lifts to it, just jeffries tubes (one down each pylon) for occasional servicing of said equipment. In a traditional science vessel, sensor probes can be launched (torpedo style) through a single tube in the bow of the secondary hull. In this particular ship, she is largely equipped with torpedoes. On the surface, she appears as a standard Oberth Science Vessel, but she is equipped for a non science role - under the guise of a science mission.
As with my other projects, I am using AutoCAD, these are screen-caps.

Oops, ignore my rambling then, sorry.
Good work though! Cool concept, disguised "science" vessel. Cool.

I was thinking that the forward bay was an airlock/probe launcher. As a science vessel it would probably rely more on probes rather than getting too close to whatever it was studying. Being a larger space would give lots of room for storage and work space for modifying the probes.

Nice work. My only question is why are there shops on a federation starship? Especially something as small as an Oberth class ship.

I assume by shops means a store to buy gifts or groceries- both of which are not necessary on a starfleet ship. Or is shops menaing something else?

Shops == Machine Shops or Workshops or, Engineering Shops (note they are adjacent to Main Engineering). The location where replacement doohickies and gweebodisks are machined when the ones the ship is equipped with break, leaving them stranded a lifetime away from the nearest repair facility.
Stores == Ship's Stores, e.g. dry-goods storage - not to be confused with liquid storage (there are numerous "tank farms" scattered about), everything from clothes, to communicators, to pinballs for the bowling alley (what do you think the secondary hull is, anyway?)

Not bad; however, I've seen floorplans for the Oberth that were very similar in the past (Decks 3 & 4 are exactly the same) that were made for an online LUG Trek RPG. Though there are only so many combinations I suppose.

This is loosely based on those RPG plans (I thought I gave credit, though it may have slipped my mind). These are intended for an RPG group, but I wanted good detailed plans, and I wanted to make some changes from what those plans were.
